Yes, Its time to discuss this issue which has been nagging at me for a while.

The theoreom is this:
I suggest that AMSO,NASSP and DeltaGlider IV and XR5 get together with Artlavs Orulex and do create the following super mod because we really don't need 3 versions of apollo floating about in a community of less then 10000:

* Use the awesome ship models, staging, crafts, lunar rovers and moon objectives from AMSO with:
* NASSP control panel and the virtual AGC for ultra realism.
* Use orulex for all mesh work on the moon so we can actually go driving and walking around in craters, particularly in missiosn around hadley apenine.
* DeltaGlider IV has the best UMMU and we should use that for all the breathing, life support and virtual cockpit for the astronauts.

Any thoughts? The source code is free, someone just needs to get it together.

The AMSO EVA has the best crew implementation .
And there are only 2 Apollo Addons.

And finally AMSO is approaching the mission detail of NASSP.

So in my opinion I think you are wrong, however it is possible that I am too. :)

Just like the communism, the idea is great, but the reality is forgotten (or missed).

Speaking in terms of theorem your mistake is in the assumptions here:
The source code is free, someone just needs to get it together.

Only NASSP is open-source out of the named bunch, and it is not particularly complete as of now.

AMSO resources are better not to be even proposed - last time someone jokedly proposed to use outstanding AMSO meshes as an option for NASSP, Alain put an anti-fool encoding on them, imagine what could happen if the code is proposed.

Orulex/Meshland could be made open-source and collision detection is easily tuned to perfection in a special case of LM and rover, but this is only a last step in the proof.

DGIV and UMMU are not open-source too, and DanSteph had no plans or intentions to make them OSS.

So, it will take more than just somebody to make the Lunar Landing Maximum hybrid add-on, it will require a wide collaboration and accepting the idea by several developers.

Better just to start from scratch than try to merge them.
