Interstellar travel?

I understand that there are some MFDs and vessels devoted to interstellar travel in Orbiter, but I find myself clueless about the concept. Is interstellar travel possible in Orbiter and how?

Not really, though some addons do sort of manage it through various kludges.

this might be about your best bet. It gives you the option to either warp there or just point your nose and go athrustin' for a looong time...

It's not very realistic, but I guess it's the best we have so far. Could actually be great fun with Artlavs Hius, never tried it though.

Orbiter only supports a single star.
There have been attempts to simulate another star system by placing a massive planet very far out with a complex moon system.
This approach however is limited, as orbiter has problems with things very far from the sun. The bigger the values the more inaccuarate they are computed. This holds true for both, speed and distance.

Msss MFD is really the best thing we have in that department. And as far as I am oriented, this will not change with the next version of orbiter.

I've actually considered downloading that one for the Hius.
