Lego ISS

This is just a rumour, in fact I could be the first to notice.

Looks like this could be released in 2011. No idea about when or how much but from this picture it looks big and detailed.

Worst case is that Lego don't produce it but that seems unlikely TBH. This might change the space sets to being released in January as there was mention that a space station could be released in March.

Nice. I hope they also release some alternative versions. It would be nice to be able to build Alpha as Freedom or as a Dual-Keel plan!

It all depends on the size of the modules.

We don't even know how big the the station is or what price point.

20$ for that? Jeeze. I could build that exact model using a few of the several hundred pieces I got at a yard sale for 20$.

EDIT: Oh wait, I don't have the stickers. I guess those are why it's so expensive? :lol:

Lego is one of those things where the sum of the parts is often less than the sum of each part.

Of course price is relative. I suspect that will be a 200 piece count model which works out to be $0.10 a piece which is pretty good value.

$20 sounds about right based on what I've paid recently for similar sized kits. Any word on if it will be released on time for my son to ask Santa for it?

The small van and rocket will be released Late (26th +) December to January. The ISS in March.

So if Santa is a bit late then yes, but other than that probably not. Also there would be a few weeks for Lego to send it out. The shops here are generally a bit lax in getting the sets out before March.

For what it is worth, I will be getting 2 of this particular set, I like it that much.

The ISS model looks interesting, but the truss structure looks like it'd be a little flimsy.
