Question making an orbiter movie in windows movie maker?

after i use a screen recorder to record gameplay it looks great gut no mater what resolution i save the movie maker video it is always worse than the original raw video, is there a good video editor that does not do this? and is there a way to prevent it from happening?:beathead:

Oh, that's normal, just Save it to your computer and it'll look great. I've done this before.

Perhaps it's down to the settings you're using in Movie Maker. Video encoders are configurable.

However, Movie Maker is in my opinion one of the worse software products for this purpose. Many better ones exist. I suggest you seek one out if you want to make good films.

TEX makes the best films out there. You may want to ask him what editing software he uses.

If I remember rightly, Tex uses Sony Vegas, which is not free.

You can buy Sony Vegas Platinum for relatively cheap on eBay, ~$50 (I'd go with version 9 of Movie Studio Platinum, it's much cheaper and there's not a big difference between 9 and 10). The main thing to worry about is the layers, 4 video and 4 audio in Platinum versus the Pro's unlimited amount of layers. But 8 total layers is usually enough.
Vegas Pro is $600.
With Vegas you can save the video in whatever resolution you'd like and FPS. You can also crop the video.
For other professional solutions there's also AVID (PC & Mac) and Final Cut Pro (Mac only; don't recommend).

There's AVS Video Editor which is somewhat better than Movie Maker and free too.

Your encoding options are bad. Pick encoding options for LAN. That'll give you high quality.

You can always go with DivX though. A triple pass produces good results with outstanding filesize.

In my videos I use FRAPS and recording Programme and Sony Vegas for editing. Movie maker works fine, but only allow recording in WMV format. Do not have many effects, except the basics.

i chose the large hd video format or something like that, its seemes to be the best one but still sucks
