This is a simple MFD that allows IRC chatting from inside Orbiter, which pretty much sums it all.

This is a work in progress, bugs swarm on the right and under the action.
Bug reports along with suggestions and ideas are welcome in the discussion thread.

Don't forget to change your nick in irc.cfg!

Pros: It's IRC.

My GOD this thing is more than inperfect. I have to press the window key to see the server statsus, thus preventing me from actually FLYING MY SHIP. second, It seems to be in ONE COULOR. you can only connect to the irc channel that you register... aaand it times out horribly(probbibly just the server). you have a LONG way to go, my friend... a VERY long way. Ok I am so happy that someone would do this but... Here comes the bad part.. ...I couldn't connect to any other server, yes I did change the IP number so...great work though...I look foreward to the next version!

Any chance of an update incorporating the movement of the IRC channel over to #orbiter-forum?
Also, I can't seem to get it to work in 2010P1, but that may just be because it's set to connect to a different place. I'm no wizard in either MFDs or IRC...

I just tried it in P1, and I do know IRC. I confirm Izack's observation that it doesn't work in P1.
