The weather is an important aspect of life, and is also often a subject of complaint - especially when it's like this:

Get out with your cameras and take some pics! Snow, rain, flooding, hail, anything - bad weather only though, no pictures of glorious sunshine or I may have to smack you with the Trout Of Jealousy (TM).

Few pictures I took around London yesterday. First one is from King's Road, the others are from Westminster.

Xyon, what you have is called nice winter weather, when kids run outside and scrape castles out of snow. :)

For reference, that's what snowed in means in Kamchatka:

Literally no way out of home.

Somewhere out there are the cars.

Some time later there are roads:

So, stop moaning and enjoy the Christmas weather.

russian winters... how do you drive on roads like that? dont those walls of snow ever collapse in on the road and any poor souls driving on them?

It's amazing, between 20 and 30 centimetres (one foot) of snow. I think I never saw so much snow here before. The power lines made some strange sounds...

I was not able to get much, it looks like the batteries didn't like the weather.

Moan? Who moans about the weather? We love snowy weather. We stand bare-chested, waist-deep in the snow waving our mighty blades at the overcast sky screaming "AAAAAARGH!" and feeling all manly.
At least until the effects of caffeine wear off...

Ah, crispy snow under the skis, sparkling better than jewels in the sunshine! However, wouldn't underestimate the power of a blizzard or a semi-watery thaw, either. Shovel and drain, drain and shovel...

well im not moaning, i just found out that college is shut, so ill be on the nearest hill going silly with a sledge like im 10 years younger.

Yep, especially 'shovel and drain' part.

Hah! What use are shovels? Real men use homemade flamethrowers!

Ah, the orange blaze of the flames, the roar of the dragon's breath, the smell of homemade napalm in the morning, that gasoline smell, smells like... Victory! The sound of the fire department's sirens in the distance...

... And I'll be over there.

Over there, Over there, tee dum, tee dum...

We hardly ever had snow in West Lancs when I was growing up. Rained a lot though. Must be climate change...

At least your weather is different. In Kansas this time of year the weather is EXACTLY the same each day.

it is, best i can find is that freshwater flow into teh Gulf of Mexico is disrupting the Gulf Stream, its already started to slow. end result= we get colder, snowy winters and milder summers, possibly less rainfall overall, im not sure 'bout that one !

its only gonna get worse from here on in, get your tyre chains out!

ps. north lancs for me!

Another 15 cm of snow here... so I won't complain, except maybe of the beginning pain in the back from having to haul the snow from the way down to the house into the garden, because there is not enough space anymore for piling up snow at the sides of it.

(We have a lot of room in the garden, but the way to our house passes between two other houses).

And it keeps on snowing. The snow piles at the sides of the road already exceed my height, something that happens only rarely luckily.

Climate Change? After many years without a normal winter in December, we finally have the second with just the stuff that I remember as young child. With lots of snow and ice hockey on frozen flooding on the fields. Seems to be some sort of climate cycle, I remember having such winters about every 5 years.

Been waiting for Heathrow to work since Saturday. BA has re-booked me for Wednesday. Might jack it in, get a refund and a train, if they are still working.

Just heard on BBC London(who have now got thrown off the airport!!) that they aren't allowing anyone into Heathrow unless you have a confirmed departure. Thats the flight, not just a booking, or a on-line check in.

I think there's going to be a right dust-up over the state of Heathrow.
