Hi STS,
I see your are not posting the last FDs since last Sunday, hope you are well ... in the videos I saw you were quit sick....get well soon in case.
looking forward to replicate your A7 mission sometime in January ... I am still looking your very instructive videos taking some notes and i am sure they will help me out ... need to take a break from the LM as too complicate for me to master at once :sleep: , i guess the jump from A8 to A11 was and it is too large for me to master, (too many things to read, understand, tries and little time) so to reduce the frustration some CSM only missions will be good for alternating with LM sessions / tests ... take care.

At systems that were on standby since 194:45:00 GET were brought back online. P51 and P52 with Nominal option and present GET were performed, including a GDC align to IMU.

Sixth SPS Burn:
On the preparations for the burn, star check was not performed as attitude was the same as on SPS-5 burn, and also crew was tight on time (just had lunch).
This burn was performed at 210:08:00 GET. Configuration for the burn was 20 seconds 2 jet ullage and B thrust switch on, TVC G&N, SPS On/Off G&N. As recommended by MCC-H crew added 4.8 fps to EMS and P30´s +X DV. Burn duration was around 1 second, data is as follows:

P23 Star/Horizon Sighting:
A P23 run was performed at GET 213:20:00 with Star 17 and NEH options. Crew got the same result as in previous P23 attempts.

Sixth TV Transmission:
Transmission started at 213:42:27 and ended at 213:50:50 GET.

P22 Orbital Navigation:
Starting at 214:50:00 GET, crew performed various runs of P22, but was unable to track most of the landmarks planned for this FD. This was caused because the orbit was off-plane and off-altitude as of the mishap on SPS-5. However, with feedback from MCC-H, crew learned that in this case the spacecraft could be rolled to help the optics track the landmark. Tried this but unsuccessfully, lack of practise of this variation and timing was tight. P22 tests completed at 217:33:30 GET.

G&N Power down:
G&N systems, including computer were shutdown and computer was left on standby at GET 219:00:00.

Last hydrogen stratification test:
Last hydrogen stratification test was performed at 226:05:44 GET. Data is as follows:

Flight day started at 228:58:15 GET, a few hours after the last sleep period finish. However, some activities that I considered part of this FD started at 228:00:00.
Crew took a nap from 229:16:30 GET to 232:42:30 GET. Crew felt confident that the nap would help.
Crew took a nap from 234:17:30 to 236:42:40 GET.
Crew took a sleep cycle from 246:17:00 to 249:20:00 GET. Crew was good after wake up.

Crew made a mistake recording the SM He Temps. Used the wrong "labels/meters" on the gauge, and recorded that.

G&N Power up:
Systems that were powered down or put on standby at 219:00:00 GET were turned back on at 233:00:00 GET. P51 IMU orientation was peformed, also a P52 IMU orientation with the preferred option was performed at 234:07:00 GET in preparation for SPS-7, after the state vector was updated by uplink.
Just as informational, there is a discrepancy between flightplan on Checklist MFD and "Apollo 7 Flight Plan.doc". On ChecklistMFD the G&N Power up is shown at 233:00:00 GET but on the .doc it´s shown 20 minutes later:

Seventh TV transmission:
Transmission started at GET: 238:02:55. This transmission affected the timing at SPS-7. Transmission ended at 238:08:40.

Seventh SPS burn:
This burn was performed at 238:18:37 GET. Configuration for the burn was 15 seconds 4 jet ullage, both thrust switches on, TVC SCS Auto, SPS On/Off pb ON EMS Off. As recommended by MCC-H, crew used Rate switch Low, and trimmed the gimbals.
Crew made various mistakes on preparation for this burn. Only A thrust switch was put on On. Got trouble when setting the trims, as during a checklist, SCS TVC switches were put on AUTO and gimbals were reset. Spacecraft attitude was moved during ullage. Rate switch was left on High. B switch was left off.
Burn duration was around 10 seconds and data is as follows:

Tarjectory was checked with help of MCC-H and RTCC MFD and it was GO. We were worried about the altitude after the Deorbit Burn, wich would impact time to entry interface, and affecting crew workload after deorbit.

G&N Power Down:
Guidance and navigation systems, including computer were shutdown and put on standby at 241:00:00 GET.

Initiate Cabin Cold Soak:
Procedure was performed at 249:50:00 GET, to prepare the cabin for entry conditions.

Crew continued awake from the last activity of FD11 at 249:50:00 to the end of FD11 at 252:58:11.

G&N Power Up:
Systems that were powered down at 241:00:00 GET were powered back on at 254:40:00 GET. Computer was also taken out of standby. P51 IMU orientation was performed, and during that procedure, crew noted a strange behaviour of the optics, as if they moved in the wrong way ("backwards"):

Eight SPS Burn:
Eight and last burn (deorbit) was performed at 258:52:16 GET, with the crew hoping that they did everything good. Crew was little concerned about the residuals after the burn, as some jets were already disabled. Burn was performed with 15 seconds 4 jet ullage, and A+B thrust switches on, TVC G&N, SPS On/Off G&N. Burn time was around 12 seconds. Data is as follows:

LEO Entry:

After deorbit burn, crew executed CM/SM Separation and entry procedures. CM/SM Sep occured at 258:58:53 GET. After that, spacecraft was prepared for entry but crew had a lot of difficulty finding the horizon. A close call occurred when the crew realized that the CM attitude was nose-first (259:13:00 GET). Corrected quickly. What happened was that the spacecraft was oriented to the Attitudes on the PAD´s, but didn´t saw the horizon, so started to move the pitch axis. The crew later understood that the attitude shown on the pad is the attitude where the horizon appears at an altitude of 400000 ft (EI) and not before, and this happens on LEO. So, if the crew were to keep the PAD attitude, the horizon would appear at 400000 ft. (Could also contribute that the PAD´s came late as we were ahead of schedule?)

Entry interface was reached at aproximately GET 259:17:00. Spacecraft control to CMC at 259:17:34 GET. Max G (3.9) at 259:19:50 GET.
Crew set the Pre Burn RTOGO on the EMS. (Maybe because PAD´s came late).
Another close call occured when the crew had difficulty with switch covers (ELS Logic to ON and ELS to Auto) for allowing drogue deployment. (Also, the crew forgot ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️). Drogues deployed at 259:24:47 GET and at 14000 ft. (I am not dead right?)
Main chutes deployed nominally. V69 was executed as requested by MCC-H after main chutes deployed.
Splashdown ocurred at GET 259:30:11.5 GET.

Post splashdown & crew egress:
Post splashdown procedures were performed, during those crew could not see the bloat bags inflating inside the CM´s VC (intended?). Hatch opened at 259:56:06 GET and crew egress occured at 259:56:51 GET.

Final comments:
I would like to take another chance to thank everyone who helped me achieve this, and who followed me during the stream. This is NOT an easy "adventure", it requires a lot of time, "logistics", and insanely crazy love and pure passion for Simulation and Apollo stuff.
My goal is to try to make an Apollo mission in this way every six months, but to be able to do that, and to be able to just perform one apollo mission in this way, logistics and real-life matters planning is required. I learned on this flight that I can bother people around me, and that is completely understandable. I don´t live alone yet (that is another topic, but many people on my country is in my situation unfornutalely) so I took some luxuries (and probably very selfish for my part), like having the lunch/dinner ready when the flightplan allowed (many times at weird times), also supplies from the supermarket being taken care of for me (I failed to plan some things and bought less of what I needed for the mission).
So I will try the next one (Apollo 8) when I have the chance to live alone or be on my own, even just for a week.. I feel that I disturbed my parents with this one, and I don´t want that. I had in my mind before the mission (and even before the Apollo 8 attempt on may 2021) to have a studio or appartment for a simulation room (cockpit for simracing, VR on a full room, and other things like a dedicated cockpit for flight simulation), and now it could materialize for the next mission. I have the luck to have a bucket of money saved.

So with all this, I want to show that this stunt is possible, but that it is really hard to perform.

This debrief is outstanding, and they really help us look into things over the course of a mission rather than snippets or events. We are looking forward to Apollo 8, which by the way the launch anniversary is today :)

Attaching quicksaves for the run. Processed the names as better as I could, for some reason, lots of quicksaves for the first 3 days and lesser and lesser for the rest of days. Even some days didn´t take any. I was becoming more confortable on every flightday :)

I realize I'm a bit late to the party, but I just joined the NASSP community very recently and I think this is an awesome effort! I really appreciate the lengths you went to in order to create this series, and your debriefs are remarkably well put-together! Looking forward to Apollo 8, this man on the ground wishes you good luck and godspeed for your next mission!

Unfortunately, the video on youtube doesn't report the chat you had during the stream. I didn't understand which procedure it was and where I can find it in the doc. I hope you can help me because it seemed a really cool procedure :cool:

I think, IIRC, during that timeframe we were talking about a procedure for the AGC so that the attitude doesn´t get into Gimbal Lock during the sleep period.

The procedure was "created" during this RTS run, based on @Thymo ´s knowledge; maybe he can help you more on it, as I cant find the notes where I copied it...

From the video I transcript it as:
  1. CMC Mode - AUTO

  3. Enter 11112 in R1 of N46 (Select 5º Deadband)
  4. V21 N01E

To deactivate:

CMC attitude - >30 degrees away from gimbal lock

CMC Mode - Auto
Select 5 degree deadband in DAP
(R1 of N46 D =1 )
V21 N01 E
3255 E
5255 E (selects 30 degree deadband)

Deactivation procedure:
V 48 E
PRO, PRO, PRO
Reconfigure DAP as desired
Concludes checklist
The alternate procedure for deactivation is.
THC - CW, then neutral
This reset DAP deadband to 5 degrees
