I am currently reading go play in space. Its a great book and I got to the moon no problem and can do it now with no assistance. However I cant return. Everytime I try I go slinging off into space. I have read the return from the moon tutorial in the beginners section but I still couldnt do it. I just need a list of what MFD's to use and how to calc out a good trajectory back. I tried doing the steps in reverse but some of the MFD's wont let me select moon as reference earth as target. I have IMFD v4.1 installed but have never used it and cant seem to follow the tutorials for that very well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

The Moon is in Earth's SOI (sphere of influence) so basically, if you are orbiting the Moon you are orbiting Earth. So no, you can't select the Moon as reference and Earth as target since it doesn't make any sense.

Use the TransX, it's a good tool and relatively easy to use if you know the basics. Read those tutorials: http://flytandem.com/orbiter/tutorials/ !
