Here is the picture.

I posted it on the gallery. I checked the runway in Habana spaceport. The runway in Habana is ok. I can see it. But when I check the condition in White Sands, I cannot see any runway. I can only see the red lights at the end of the runway. All runways in the above 3 areas can lit up normally at night but the textures in Cape canaveral and White Sands are missing.

Please take note of this. Also, the sinking issue exists for almost all vessels on Brighton Beach Base. I check the Shuttle-A on BB base and a few of its legs sink into the pad. The same happens on brianJ's Falcon Heavy add-on, already updated with his newest patch for orbiter Beta r.55. The core stage of FH will sink into the ASDS when landed on it. See for yourself by running the scenario 13K VAFB to Polar after downloading his add-on.

The left picture is FH core landing on ASDS in Orbiter 2010 whereas the 2 pictures beside it is the one tested in orbiter 2016 beta r.55.
Hopefully my comment will help in improving the add-ons and the simulator itself.

Regards,

Nicholas.

In orbiter 2016's KSC, the runway textures for SLF is hard coded into the high res teture tile for Florida. Tor see the runway, you have to download that high res tile from the high res textures repository. The tile is abot 2.6gb in size. It so high resolution, that the runway is clearly visible in the high res ground textures itself. So there is no need for a seperate runway definition. But the ILS and lights are all present. But, you need the high res tile for the runway

Dear Abloheet,

The high resolution texture files are not just 2.6 GB in size. The complete high resolution texture pack is about 21.1 GB in total comprising of 6 separate files (Earth.7z.001 to Earth.7z.006) in 7z format. It is very very large.

I plan to download it from : http://mirror.orbiter-radio.co.uk/orbiter/assets/earth.html

However, I used to fail due to internet connection problems. I started out with the high-resolution Martian texture and it is the only download that succeeded since only 2 files are involved. I tried the Moon's (hi-res) texture too but fail.

Anyway, the terrain models on Mars with hi-res texture is very impressive.

Next trial is on this Saturday. Stay tune.

Nicholas.

Can you tell me where you got this Ravenstar Version?
At alteaaerospace I could only find this version:
XR2 Ravenstar 1.6a (Release date: 4-May-2013 => [Build 130504, API 100830])
Is it a development version that can be downloaded somewhere?

Hmm, a 30 minutes flight (plus docking at ISS) did not show any problems.
Do you have a scenario (or procedure) to reproduce it?

Greetings from Germany ;)

Change log:
Module class: added callback methods clbkProcessMouse, clbkProcessKeyboardImmediate, clbkProcessKeyboardBuffered for intercepting keyboard and mouse events. NOTE: requires recompile of all Module-based plugins (including graphics clients)

This appears to be working as expected. Although, clbkProcessKeyboardBuffered cannot block 'Z' and 'X' keys since they are not used as buffered keys but can be blocked by clbkProcessKeyboardImmediate. But I guess that is intended behavior.

However, there appears the be a problem with oapi::Module::clbkSimulationEnd(), I am trying to release some graphics resources there but the call comes too late.
Code:
000000.000: D3D9: [Scene Initialized]
000000.000: oapi::Module::clbkSimulationStart
000000.000: Finished initialising panels
000005.596: D3D9: [Session Closed. Scene deleted.]
000005.596: D3D9: [Destroy Render Window Called]
000005.596: D3D9: ERROR: [Failed to Reset DirectX Device] (Likely blocked by undeleted resources)
000005.596: oapi::Module::clbkSimulationEnd
000005.596: **** Closing simulation session

The documentation says:
PHP:
 * This method is called immediately before a simulation session is
 * terminated, and before the render window is closed.
 * \default Calls \ref opcCloseRenderViewport, if defined in the module.

haven't used for a few weeks. using rev55 with latest D3D9, found needed to reactivate Orbiter Sound (4.0) module but now shows a Orbiter Sound splash screen overlay orange text "What's new in Orbiter sound . . ." (wherever/ whatever scenario I start) which I can't switch off? can't scroll this text or move it either - what have I missed please . . . (also gives introductory voice to Orbiter Sound) Never had this before ;-(

Oh and the text is just a few sentences but just repeats all the way down the screen and off it . . . effectively obliterates the view/cockpit behind

As usual, sorry if this wrong place to ask

---------- Post added at 03:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:43 PM ----------

Oh, heck, ignore the above. by going into normal orbiter .exe and different monitor could finally see all the text. My main monitor 2560x1440 on the ng.exe didn't show the bit that says hit the space bar to remove :blush:

When you open the map, click options, then close the map, afterwards the options box is still open and if you click something on it Orbiter crashes.

Minor bug report, the delta-glider's HUD animation state isn't being saved or written to the scenario file.

Potentially stupid small request: could Orbiter_ng.exe have a different icon? Perhaps the same DG but with blue wings? That would make the 2 executables more discernible.

After a few more tests and mesh lint runs, I can't find any special error in the mesh file that could explain problems during parsing. I get a CTD in oapiGetTextureHandle, which is caused by the texture table in the template mesh structure in Orbiter being NULL. There are no anomalous log entries, D3D9Client stores the textures according to its log.

The final assembly instructions look like that, I am sure it is not far away from the C++ code.

Instruction|Comment
mov eax, dword ptr [esp+8]| EAX is set to the DWORD containing the one-based texture index
mov ecx, dword ptr [esp+4]| ECX is set to the MESHHANDLE
dec eax| Make texture index zero-based
cmp eax, dword ptr [ecx+10h]| compare texture index to number of textures in mesh
jae 004A2955 | When bigger or equal, branch beyond the following code lines
mov ecx, dword ptr [ecx+14h]| Load address of texture table. This is NULL.
mov eax, dword ptr [ecx+eax*4]|Load address of the texture. It CTDs here.

There is no download per se anymore, but an SVN repository: svn://orbiter-forum.com/orbiter

Another minor quibble/bug.

I've noticed that pressing no longer hides the interface at the top of the screen. I find this moderately inconvenient when taking screenshots, any chance we could get that feature back?
