Request Orbital Sciences Antares family

Not just that. There is also a special pipe down the nozzle, that ejects the exhaust of the starter turbine, a moment before the main combustion chamber is lit (~0.4 second delay between firing starter cartridge and the pressure kick in the main combustion chamber - long enough to notice even at normal time warp).

There is also venting from the LOX2 relief at liftoff.

Well I said nit-pinky, and I meant nit-pinky as in the color, but it was a comment meant to be a play on words, but I agree details do make the vehicles more unique and fun to play with... And I don't want to detract from the high quality product I'm sure will follow. I guess I'm just anxious to get a working Antares because I'm busy with my still not working space station.

Thanks for the effort guys, I know this stuff isn't easy, and I really do appreciate your hard work.

@Don, wow that looks great! Keep up the great work.

Working on the crawler/erector.
The official name that OSC uses is Transporter, Erector, Launcher or TEL for short. I believe "crawler" is a specific term for vehicles equipped with tread belts.

Yes, and it should be also only the cargo component of it. The red vehicles below are commercial heavy-load transport units, like often seen in shipbuilding.

Here is the source for the name of it: https://twitter.com/OrbitalSciences/status/326066504036655104

Picture gallery with some good views of it:

Yes, the correct term is Self Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT). They used SPMTs from Sarens to move Endeavour from LAX to the CSC. The SPMTs were attached to the Overland Transporter (OLT) which was originally used to transport the orbiters between Palmdale and Edwards AFB. With the Vandenberg Orbiter Lifting Frame (OLF) relocated to Palmdale, there was no need for the OLT anymore so it sat unused until it was pressed into service one final time, to move Endeavour to her final location.

Yeah... I should have just translated the German term of them 1:1, as I see.:lol:

If someone would like to do the scenery tiles, for Wallops Island. It would sure speed things up.

What sort of area? Haven't looked at Wallops Island.

The launch area including the VAB and road, prefferably hi-res.

Have to build the pad and ramp to that.

I think the base should better be named MARS and put next to the still existing Wallops Island... but I am not sure how Orbiter reacts to two "MARS.cfg"

What would be a suitable LAT/LONG for a reference point.
In the past I've usually gone for the launch pad or Control Point, and worked out decreasing resolution as needed.

A rough guess.

I would just center the base area. approximately. This way you can use the tiles and details more evenly along the base and get less problems with the distance to the center of the base

Just realised Wallops Island is in the default base .cfg. Would that be a suitable reference lat/long?

Didn't see Urwumpe's above, I'll have a look, and come back, could be a while though...:)

Yes... well, if it works, it works.
