may I suggest that the addons page becomes a direct link page?

That way you right click and select "get all these with getright" and you just dooooooowwwwwnllloooooad... Instead of click click click click... etc... "oh there it is" and then download... :p

Nice idea, but since they are being hosted on someone else's website they fund and provide for the public it is only right that we provide a redirect to their site and not a direct download link.

Tex is exactly right. In addition, another reason to not link directly is because the download links could be changed by the author on the add-on site's download page, and then there would be broken links in the forum's add-ons page. Or worse, the direct link could still work but point to an older version of that add-on.

Virtual Cockpits are features of individual vessels, and tapping F8 (I think?) will typically switch between cockpit modes. Check out the manual, it's in there somewhere.

In this video:
Atlantis has a virtual cockpit yet none of the Atlantis options in my SSU version has it. Do I need a newer version? I pulled the one I have from here so is there another place to get it?

Thanks,

A

Btw, how come the new Wideawake International hasn't been posted on the Recommended Addons yet? :)

Recommended Addons List Updated!

In addition to new addons listed such as the XR2 and Wideawake International, I made a new page for the addon list. You can use the links on the site footer or navbar to visit the Recommended Addons page or simply click on the link below:

It's your list Tex, but why list LandMFD instead of LOLA? The former has CTD problems and I know of none such with the latter.

Is there any advantage at all to using LandMFD?

Good question.. I'm not sure myself. I can easily change it to LOLA if the LandMFD is not what's used now.

The LandMFD CTD is easy to demonstrate but God bless him LazyD must have fixed whatever it was in LOLA.

Just trying to spare someone a headache. :)

I personally fell that in addition to the above that the Intermod 2 orbiter key command mod and macro utility is an absolute essential for relieving hairpulling stress and fully functional orbiting.

http://www.orbithangar.com/search_quick.php?text=intermod+2

Intermod 2 is an Orbiter module that extends the basic keyboard functions, provides extended set of generic autopilots and allow you to overcome some of Orbiter's limits.

also for full compatability with older addons you should have all three versions of vinkas spacecraft dll's and both multistage dll's as well as the two later patches for each.they do not interfere with each other and will insure that all functions are accessable and up to date.
files include:
spacecraft.dll 92 K dated 12/30/2003
spacecraft2.dll 120K dated 7/6/2005
spacecraft3.dll 148K dated 10/12/2006 (this is the updated version)
Stage.dll 48 K dated 10/6/2006
multistage.dll 120 K dated 1/9/2004
multistage2.dll 132K dated 7/6/2005

links to vinkas site can be found at orbiters home page

I don't know why I never noticed this thread before but I just did and I wanted to say a couple of things.

First, 55 Cancri was also co-created by Art Eaton. He deserves at least 1/2 the credit for it.

Second, it is an honor to have any of my add-ons included in this list. Thank you very much.

Sorry I missed your post here anemazoso, I'll get Art's name added to the page. I need to update it anyway, so I'll take care of this very soon, I promise! ;)

And also... fantastic addon by thorton [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3737"]International Space Station v.2.5 (includes fantastic Soyuz-TMA and Progress spacecrafts).[/ame] Also I don't see [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2844"]Project R-7[/ame] in the list (legendary rockets btw).

And also... What to do with CEV Pegase and Ariane 6 in NON-FICTIONAL SPACECRAFT section. From the website: Ariane 6 is a _fictive_ launcher for very heavy payload. And Pegase iirc is ESA project of crew transportation (someone correct me)?

I don't want this to be read as an advertisement, but I think my L10 Moon textures could be also added to the list.

No one voted on them yet, so I don't know if they are good enough, but I think they are enough popular (5390 + 1565 downloads since Nov 13 2009 till now) to be added to the "MOON TEXTURES" section: [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4307"]Level 10 Earth's Moon - Luna L10 Textures v1.0 (zip)[/ame] [165MB], or [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4308"]Level 10 Earth's Moon - Luna L10 Textures v1.0 (7-zip)[/ame] [137MB] (for 7-zip capable people with slower connection).
