Welcome on board Trans-orbital Express flight 49P bound for the International Space Station. This is not a business class flight like the Dragon flight earlier this month: we don't have pressurization services or oxygen supplies on board; we don't have abort ability if we lose an engine in flight; we don't have ice-cream supplies or fridges too. And most importantly, this is a one-way flight: the ship will got burned up later on when this ship is reconfigured into a trash bin. At least we have a good safety record (1 crash in 35 years) so we still thank you for taking this flight. The flight time is 5 hours and 59 minutes. We hope you have a pleasant journey. :tiphat:

....

.... This might have been the flight announcement heard by the various cargo on board the next Progress flight to the ISS, but I can't back it up at this moment.

Anyway, here are the flight details of the 6 hours long express trip to the ISS (on its second test after Progress M-16M in August), which if successfully implemented, will see the rendezvous profile transferred to the Soyuz spacecraft starting from early next year. The idea is to minimize the workload of the astronauts on the original 2 day long journey in a space roughly equal to a seven-seat car.

Now under 2 hours to launch.

Quoting our own Pete: "Pumpkins and Dracula costumes should be stowed by now. Unfortunately, sources note that a ghoul has managed to get into the cargo compartment during late load activities. As such, flight control teams are currently uplinking procedures to the Expedition 33 crew for dealing with ghouls on the ISS."

Nothing to report - flawless launch and separation!

Docking in just under 6 hours from now, just in time to send up Halloween treats to the ISS crew.

Oh and Sunny Williams reported that they can see the launch happening from the ISS!

Did you wonder, what the blessing squad on Baikonur was for? ;)

Thanks guys for the outstanding coverage, the forums didn't load for me most of the day today! :hello:
