I have recently seen this 2007 Canadian miniseries. It's a Voyage to the Planet-ish two-parter centered around a manned mission to Mars in 2030, featuring a multinational crew. The expedition is very trouble-plagued by faulty components, accidents and various mishaps but none too outlandish.

The spacecrafty part is pretty cool, as well, with a variety of vehicles. The mission profile took a different approach from VTTP by having most of the specialized stuff (lander, cargo module and shelter) launched ahead of the manned craft instead of being contained in the mothership.

Some images follow...

Saw a series called "Mars Rising," narrated by William Shatner, that used the same ship and the same ideas. It seem to be a companion to "Race to Mars".

I've heard of that series but despite extensive searching, I've never been able to watch it. Where did you find it?

Ok, it's been hard, hard work. About one month's worth of surveillance, day and night and under heavy rain. I had to interrogate witnesses, bug a couple of rooms and do a forensic analysis of a stolen HD recovered in an abandoned warehouse surrounded by crack-dealing gang members and in the end...

... Found them on YouTube:
Go there and save before someone DMCAs the hell out of them.

Watched it on TV some time ago. Loved the Nerva-powered Mars-ship design inspired by Stanley Borowski! The ship looks pretty much like AndyMc's CTV from Orbithangar: [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2713"]Crew Transfer Vehicles v0.96[/ame]

What I did not especially like was the abundance of problems written into the script. This should keep up the tension, but failed somehow. However, on reality it beats 'Mission to Mars' hands down :)
