Hello all! I just recently joined these forums. I have been playing Orbiter for years but I have a newb type question.

I want to know how to get Orbiter screen shots.
How is this done?

Thanks in advance.

Oberoth.

Orbiter can't natively save screenshots.
You can use windows screenshot function by pressing "Print Screen" (usaly above the insert key), and then paste into any graphics program (paint will do).

There are also easily findable programs that take screenshot. If you want to do more than a few screenshot, those are essential.

And :welcome: to the forum!

Re:Screen shot

Thanks TsPenguin for your quick reply. I was wondering where these(screen shot from PrtScrn) files might go after I have hit the button. Anymore help would be appreciated.

Thank you oceanic. The windows link you provided was a real help. The add on didn't work though. That's all I needed thanks again all. :)

you're welcome

you have to activate the the screencapture plugin under the modules tab first before you can use it. if it still doesn't work you may need NET Framework 2.0 and / or VC++ 2005 Redistributable Package (a lot of addons use them so it's not a bad thing to install them)

You've probably figured it out by now, but just in case, after you do hit the Print Screen button, the image is actually in your "clipboard" and you have to paste it somewhere (such as paint, or some other image viewer). It's like any other text or image you copy.

And its interesting, because this was the exact same question I asked when I was a wee lil' n00b and joined the old orbiter forum (M6) in 2004. ;)
