Skylab 1973 rebuild

Here is the latest. It has 2 eva guys. On Skylab the operation are split on the pop up. Eva exit, foot restraints in the Fixed Shroud are controlled there. Activies on the ATM on ATM or EVA

Things still working on is better attachments for the boom and eva on the ATM.

On the eva guys they move along an attachment point. if you attach to the foot restraint to move again retether. I can make them free flow.

On the launch I just adjusted the locations and time in MS2015.

Sounds like trying to add a tether might be to much work . It would be nice to have a tether EVA guy as was done with the ISS but be able to make him a free floater as well
Not sure what you are talking about. The ISS with Questairlock has EVA. Both ISS_HD and Skylab have floating guys

Needs to make a mesh adjustment for the BOOM devices.

On them. I can make it attach a film cassette vessel (white box) and carry the film cassette to the top.

Maybe have the film cassette in the holding? But then Do I need to have skylab load the film? Just means more attachment.

On the Can the side hatches don't open I can do that.

relooking at the booms:
2.5.7.4.7 Extendible Boom To transfer the ATM film between the FAS workstation and the center or sun end workstation, a remotely controlled, motorized extendible boom is employed to transport the film to the film receiving points near the center and sun end workstations (figure 2.5.7-3). Three extendible booms are utilized: (1) a center extendible boom to transport the ATM film to a target point immediately adjacent to the center workstation; (2) a sun end extendible boom to transport the film to the transfer workstation where the film is removed from the boom by the crewman and placed on the sun end workstation; and (3) a spare extendible boom which serves as a replacement for the center or sun end extendible boom. The booms extend and retract through the action of electrically driven reels, which "pay-out" or "roll-back" two ribbons. The ribbons are stored in the flattened state on the reels. When an extendible boom switch is placed in the EXTEND pos iti on, the ree 1 s "pay-ou t" the fl at ri bbon through the b'oom housi ng . The pre-load built into the ribbon causes the ribbon to curl over into a cross section resembling a "double barrel shotgun". A boom hook is mounted on the end of the ribbon boom and restrains the ATM film as it is being transported. The boom hook is hinged at its base to permit "out-of-the-way" stowage when not in use. The center extendible boom and the sun end extendible boom are powered from switches located on panel 321 adjacent to the EVA hatch opening in the EVA bay. This panel is easily accessible to the crewman located in the FAS workstation. The film is readily loaded or unloaded on the center or sun end extendible boom while the crewman is positioned in the FAS workstation. The center extendible boom and the sun end extendible boom are supplied AM buses 1 and 2 power for operation through a zero-G electrical receptacle. However, for each extendible boom, one bus connector is connected to the boom circuitry while the other bus connector is stowed on a dummy receptacle located on the extendible boom mounting case (figure 2.5.7-4). In this way, the sun end extendible boom is normally connected to AM bus 1 and the center extendible boom to AM bus 2.

MAybe this?

Really nice work here! (y)

Is there a way to raise the visor on the EVA guy?

Thanks. The gold visor is on the pop out. Ctrl and space. I think w/s sideshield 1/2 center shield 3/4 center shield flap

It looks like those boom are operated remotely. Could be worked manually.

So would it make sense to aim the boom at the Sun end and Transfer and place them somewhere?

You could have them without the hooks. and attach. or press a key and the hook is seen. I am not sure what is attached to end. Maybe a tray tree receptible?
one drawing has them on top of the struts?

It looks like covered structures? The PDF attached as got clear images

The problem is just that the ATM handbook is still unpublished.
There is this one available:

Maybe it's a re-post. But just in case, more stuff...

Airlock Module Vol. 1 & 2:

Multiple Docking Adapter Vol. 1 & 2:

https://ntrs.nasa.gov/citations/19740018215

Orbital Workshop Vol. 1-5:

Skylab - Lessons Learned:

Skylab - A Chronology:

I have not tried it. But it should. If it has the clearance.

Because the docks in skylab are set for apollo craft it would not align. Here is the Atlantis default shuttle. I think with the MIR it needed an docking adapter
Ah, yeah, I was wrongheaded. It needs another docking module due to the ATM solar arrays I think.

redid the BOOM device. I added one to the skylab mesh as it is a spare and just eye candy and not part useable. But 2 of them will be.

Going to have a new mesh for the VC and external.

Added new handrails. Using Vesselbuilder I can adjust attachment point live. I know the Boom switch looks small. It matches his hand.

Now the guy can extend the boom

Not sure what else. I can make it simple and put a storage box on the end of the hook. so visually it looks nice.
Harder is an attachment point. But what to attach??

I need to make the boom device larger

Updated the zip.
Not sure why it is not loading. But it is here:

Updated the scn to the time of eva for Skylab 2.

On the EVA you need to have the eva movement box closed before entering Skylab.

On the FS box is a button marked tether. if the guy is attached to something else. He can't move around. When this is pressed he is reattached to where the attachment was before leaving.

I am not sure what the orientation/orbit of skylab should be?
