Old news. Not just that the current story is already from last years December in the scientific community, the high chance of improper treatment of doctors because of using flawed or outdated diagnostic methods for locked-in syndrome patients is no surprise anymore. It is known that doctors prefer to categorize all signs of consciousness of patients in this state as "random muscle activity".

As long as you don't say the magic words "Let me out or I'll sue ya!" you are not conscious.

I hope they're checking and re-checking their results though.

A few months ago I heard of a study, where someone put a dead fish under an MRI and showed it pictures and the machine recognized it as active areas of the brain or something like that...

Morbid sort of subject...

....
The future's leaking through a shut lead door
In the ruins of a city under the forest floor.
Your naked body's buried in a vacant field,
What does your body feel now?
...

SWANS. 'Nuff said...
