STS-24 is sitting on Pad 39B at che Cape, ready for the incoming night liftoff.
The purpose of the mission is to deliver a scientific laboratory aboard the CelestiaSpace Station, that will be mated to the Port hatch of Node 2 Serenity.

<<STS-24 Update , 03 March 2010 , T+ 00h:00m:02s>>
The space shuttle Discovery lifted-off at Kennedy Space Center tonight with a crew of 6, and successfully reached orbit about 9 minutes later.
It will randevouz with CSS on the 7th of March performing in the mean time procedures in preparation of the installation Of Scientific Laboratory 1.

<<STS-24 Update 2 , 07 March 2010>>
STS-24 with SL-1 reached the CSS few minutes before midnight UT and docked to PMA2.
In the next 5 days the crew will install the SL-1 on Node2 Serenity and will perform maintenace and relocation EVA's for a total of 8,5 days aboard the station.

<<STS-24 Update 3 , 08 March 2010>>
Houston authorized the start of conjoint operations of Shuttle Discovery and CelestiaSpaceStation.
The big Arm attached to the starboard truss of CSS was manouvered into space and grappled the ScientificLaboratory-1 from the CargoBay of STS-24, rised and moved it near the port hatch of Serenity.
Eva1 is going on to guide the mating of the new scientific module to the Node2.

<<STS-24 Update 4 , 09 March 2010>>
The second of the 4 EVAs in program was performed today for a total of 5h:35m outside the airlock.
The first task was to prepare the port P4 segment for the arrival of the P5 support truss at the end of May.
The second task was to prepare the downward-pointing docking system for the arrival of Progress 5 on the 20th of March.

<<STS-24 Update 5 , 12 March 2010>>
The 3rd Eva was conducted this afternoon and the objective was to relocate the first adapter PMA from Node1 to Nadir hatch of Node2, in preparation for future Station expansion.
The 4th and last EVA will be conducted tomorrow, on the 10th day of mission, and 2 days away from undocking of Discovery.

The last sceduled EVA was accomplished today.
Comm.Rein spent 2 hours outside the station working on the activation of the Scientific Laboratory-1 and resolving a problem in the sun-traking motor of the Russian Module-1 arrays.
The end of conjoint operations of CSS and Discovery is scheduled for 15th of March 2010.

<<STS-24 Update 7 , 15 March 2010>>
Early this morning Discovery undocked from CSS to begin it's 1,5 days long indipendent flight before reentry.
Comm.Rein is returning back on Earth with STS-24, and is replaced on the Station by Sharon as resident commander.
