STS-FA7-C is about to lift off from pad 39A. Because this is Atlantis's first mission since the FA9 flight, managers will be watching the GPCs very closely during the countdown and the ascent.
UPDATE:
Atlantis is safely in orbit and is making her way to the SSF. The crew is currently checking out the RMS. Atlantis is scheduled to dock with Freedom on the 18th.
UPDATE 18 October:
STS-FA7-C is about to dock with the SSF. Atlantis has performed the RPM and is moving in to the PMA on the stations nadir.
UPDATE:
Atlantis is now docked. After hatch opening the crew will use the SSRMS 2 and remove the S2 truss from the shuttle.
UPDATE 19 October:
The S2 truss is installed and deployed. No issues with the truss. Tomorrow the pallet that was left by SCS-FA2 will be placed into the shuttle payload bay. The shuttle will undock from the SSF on the 21st and landing will be on the 22nd.
UPDATE: 22 October:
STS-FA7-C is in the final stage of its flight. Atlantis has performed her deorbit burn and is on its way home to KSC. Landing will be around 1:00 am EDT on the 23rd.
UPDATE:
Atlantis has landed succesfully thus bringing STS-FA7-C to an end. The next flight to the SSF will be made by a Dragon cargo spacecraft on flight SX-DC-002. This flight will deliver some supplies for the current station crew (FE-3) and the first of the items that FE-4 will need. The next flight on the schedule will be space shuttle Constitution on flight STS-202. This flight will be the first shuttle launch from Vandenburg Airforce Base and will be a shakedown of all of Vandenburg's shuttle facilities. The payload will be an experiment named ESIS, for Earth Surface Imaging System. This ESIS, is an experimental version of a system that will be installed on Skylab II. Launch of STS-202 will be at 17:00:00 UTC on October 30th. SX-DC-002 wil take off from LC-40 at KSC on November 20th.
