With the forthcoming mission of STS-FA11, NASA is about to complete Space Station Freedom and move on to its next goal. That goal is part of the next program, the HEOP Project. HEOP stands for High Earth Orbital Platform. This is a new science platform (callsign Helios) that will consist of two groups of components. An unpressurized science platform and a pressurized control complex. The goal is to continue man's pressence in orbit and to provide more data on living in outerspace.

The architecture of the project is very complex and a quick rundown is covered in the PDF attached. Also attached is the HEOP Project mission patch.

Really nice piece of planning there, love the PDF and look forward to seeing the missions happen. Good luck!

This kind of planning is what inspired me to build my own space station. Unfortunately, I'm not as creative as you and can only write a paragraph or two about the missions.

Keep up the good work, I always enjoy your blogs

Thanks for the comments. Personally, I might be starting to go overboard. But anything worth doing is worth doing well I suppose.

Overboard? I should post up my recent XR-2/ISS checklist. It's all part of the fun!
