I am going to be a high school senior. Currently I work for a lady in my neighborhood who has recently become disabled but needs help selling her old house and moving into her farm. I'm a mover, a horse-cleaner, a dog-groomer...

I also volunteer at 2 South nursing station in Memorial Hospital.

Mechanical Engineering undergrad student with serious interest in going to grad school for Aerospace engineering. I work at Harley-Davidson Motor Company to pay for all that. :)

No because collage is a word.

You sure you shouldn't be back in school? :p

Actually, it is.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collage

C'mon, I knew what a collage was in fourth grade (you know how they just love to do all that artsy craftsy stuff in elementary school), and *you're* teasing *him* about needing to go back to school? :tounge:

Im a currently a CIS technician in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, which makes me the second military person in this thread.

Though everyone calls me crazy I have put in for a transfer to Royal NZ Signals. (NZ Army) They specialise the trade a bit more and I will purely be a network engineer.

If I was in the U.S. I would probably be in the Airforce (or Marines Air division) but in NZ we only have less than 30 aircraft so there isn't much for me to do here.

Still havent decided what I want to do yet, im only 23. I might go to uni, really want to study space technology but its not really offered in NZ

My last job was at a large electronics retail store. Never again. With any luck, I'll find a college, get a biology degree, then go on to medical school. With even more luck, somewhere in North Carolina, back home.

Sorry for bumping this really old thread but I didn't want to start a new one with the same title..

Anyway, I am an accountant who is studying for the actuarial exams and looking to make a career change within the next couple of years.

I know, not the typical Orbinaut but I've always had a fascination with spaceflight.

Continuing the bump... :p

I've been going in and out of NEET-hood for the last while, and the only jobs I've been able to land all involve scraping disgusting crap out of/off of things. This week, I've been offered a job sorting garbage 10-11 hours a day which I'll probably be forced to take.

I'd like to say that I'm a student, but regrettably I've already bungled university, so I guess I'll be doing rock-bottom work until I'm in the ground or disabled.

At least my parents haven't kicked me out yet.

well, as I've just landed here :hello: I feel justified in prolonging the agony by letting you know what I do, which is... whatever pays the bills.

I suppose I'm "in" to process mapping (writing plans and procedures and so on) and developing project control systems. My current job is almost 100% to do with the oil & gas industry - and it sounds pretty much like I work for a similar type of company to tblaxland, though I've done plenty of work in regular construction projects too. I live in Tbilisi in Georgia - been here too long really, but I'm kinda stuck. Hope to move on to somewhere with less annoying people one day.

I've been a website developer for the past 15 years. Before that I was a PC tech and network tech.

I'm also a musician and hope to advance a music career; I've played with a few bands here and there, may be getting into one regularly very shortly and hope to form my own band in the future.

I work in Webdesign / development and lately more in geomodeling (GoogleEarth API and heritage 3D modeling).

Previously I worked with GIS systems, remote sensing and mapping (after all I have a degree in Geography ;) )

In the future... wherever the same type of skills are needed !

I've been working in the power industry for nearly 10 years. The past 5 years at Tennessee Valley Authority's Watts Bar Nuclear site. Prior to that I was (still TVA) in the Combustion Turbine section of the fossil power group.
I've been assigned as a "temporary" foreman for 2 years now in the instrument mechanic shop. Eventually I'll get a permanent slot, but I'm not sure I want it. I'd happily take a pay cut and rid myself of the headache of being a foreman. But I've got to say, this ain't a bad gig.
I've worked harder and got paid less in my past (10 years in the Navy will make anyone realise what it's like to be underpaid), but I do miss working on aircraft.

game programmer :salute:

working for a big free-games website (largest in Brazil) - i'm in charge of new oriiginal titles
i do mostly ActionScript 3 for Flash games - but 've worked with and have brewing projects involving multiple other platforms, like Unity3D, DXStudio, etc...

and i also do C++ for building MP servers and stuff...

i too, could not imagine myself working (happily) with anything else :hmm:

this is my currently ongoing project:
www.clickjogos.uol.com.br/clicksinuca

it's basically a Multiplayer Billiards game... should be pretty straightforward (even though all the UI text is in portuguese) - the game itself is build on Flash, so it runs from the browser... the server is C++ and Qt
mind, this is a beta version, i'm currently neck deep in bugs of all sorts that need urgent fixing...

...speaking of which, let me get back to work

cheers!

I work for a technical service center of Toshiba computers, in Caracas, Venezuela. Although I am an electronics technician, I've been on the applications, purchases and returns.

Right behind you - don't look!
I'm a licensed PI (Private Investigator) and no, I don't drive a Ferrari and neither do I have a pretty secretary with a peek-a-boo. :) I'm now 6 and a half years in the field. Before that, I've worked as a freelance reporter for a couple of games-related websites.
The funny thing, my wife is a pathologist. When the topics of our jobs comes up, people start to wonder where the cameras are...
