Epik spaec mishun!
If I could have remembered it, it would have to have been the Canary Islands. But I was only 5, so I would have to say Florida. Too bad we probably won't be able to go there again, with our budget
That reminds me of a time I went hiking in the Budawangs. We had to spend a night holed up in a cave on the side of an impressive sandstone mesa called "The Castle" while a violent electrical storm raged in the valley below us. At times I felt I would be able to reach out and touch the lightning. The name of the valley only added to excitement: Deadman's Gulch.Hard to say, but for now I'll go with Yosemite national park in California. Standing at the edge of a 2000 ft cliff while the river hurtles over the edge a few feet away was amazing. Niagra Falls was amazing in that way, too, but of course it's more commercial. Yosemite requires some hiking to truly enjoy it.
Also, I was once in a storm at sea that was so violent and awesome I couldn't decide whether to be terrified or thrilled.
For me, it was Sedona, AZ hands-down.

It's tough to pick just one, but I'd have to say New Zealand's South Island. Milford Sound was just one of the highlights. The pictures below are from Wikipedia, but the three-masted boat is the one we stayed on. It looked this when we went to bed
Awesome in both cases.
I'm jealous, we only had two weeks! Yeah, there are lots of other good places - Lake Taupo was a bit too commercialised but it looked pretty awesome when stepping out of the door of a plane at 12,000ft!So are the Queenstown area, the Tongariro National Park (North Island), and lots of other places in NZ. My five weeks on the islands have been my favorite vacation, by far!
Very nice! We didn't get to Rob Roy but did get to see a little of Franz Joseph - literally a little, visibility was less than 50m!My personal favorite was a hike to Rob Roy Glacier in the Wanaka area. The NZ Tourism Board was so kind to use one of my pictures for their official web page describing the Rob Roy Glacier Track.
Two nice videos of the place:
You're welcome. I'd find you some more great photos but I was using film in those days and they are buried in a box somewhere.Oh... I'm speechless. Honestly, I thought that a line in a song about "... and the most beautiful fjord in the world - Milford Sound" was just something barely over an invention of the poet's imagination.
Now, it turns out that such a place exists and people who I can speak to, went there.
Thank you.
Wow, you guys have been to some pretty exotic places!
21. Cape Town, South Africa
Better idea: A day in orbit & see all these places inside 90 mins:rofl:
