A rather simple addon created as a way of transporting up to 6 UCGO cargos in the XR2 Ravenstar's payload bay.

Update:

This update includes quite a few new features like:

  • The ability to consume cargo to add Fuel or Oxygen to the XR2's tanks
  • A Configuration file to change the few user customizable options from their defaults
  • UMMU Action Areas to load / unload cargo
  • XR2 Ravenstar version 1.2 and XRVesselCtrl 2.1 APIs support
The manual (XR2_UCGOPayloadPlatformV2_2.pdf) contains more information on the update and a better description of the added features.

Version 2.2 update:

  • Fixed a bug that stopped fuel being transferred to the XR2(Reported by Foxtrot1)
  • Removed an unneeded mesh from the addon that caused a conflict with my XR5 UCGO addon
  • recompiled against the Orbiter 2010 Patch 1 SDK and the newer XRVesselCtrl APIs
Installation:
Copy the contents of this folder in to your Orbiter root folder, if you're asked to overwrite any files click "Yes"

Usage:
Keys:
"C" = grapple cargo.
"Shift+C" = release cargo.
"9" = select cargo to add.
"Shift+9" = add selected cargo.
"8" = Vessel information, e.g. amount of cargos onboard and their mass.
"Numpad Plus "(+) = Increase payload release velocity.
"Numpad Minus"(-) = Decrease payload release velocity.
"Numpad 5" = Reset release velocity to the configuration file default.
"F" = Consume onboard Fuel cargo.
"O" = Consume onboard Oxygen cargo.

No problem  !

Awesome.
Was wondering when someone would make something like this.

Downloading now

What about the XR5? It could pack quite a number of UCGO cargos.

Awesome addon nonetheless.

I'm not sure about the XR5, I might try making one for it in the future though

What an excellent little addition. Sure is easier than trying to rewrite the XR2.

+1 to that! Well done, Woo!

So I guess there will be no 'oficial' UCGO support

None planned at the moment. XR payload logic is designed to use attachments, and UCGO doesn't use attachments, so it would take a fair amount of work to rewrite all that to handle both modes. Given that we have a UCGO cargo deck now, we really don't need native UCGO support anymore. I am tweaking the payload code in the XRs, though, to make configuration a little easier. So since I'm busy on that, I really didn't want to tackle native UCGO cargo support unless there was no other choice.

So thanks again, Woo! :tiphat:

Thanks, Woo! :)

Does the weight of the UCGO payload containers propagate through to the XR2 in the same way that normal XR payloads do?

It does :) any weight you add to the UCGO platform will be added to the XR2.

This was the main thing preventing me from using the XR-2 before. Now I can have great fun (and probable death) SCRAMming my payloads to orbit! Right on, Woo!

Thanks !, I'll also have a XR5 version of this uploaded soon I hope

Awesome.

Also doubles as a nice little storage box if you want to keep a lot of cargoes stored somewhere without taking up a whole lot of room in the scenario file.

Yet another reason to replace the aging girl of the DGIVB(I hate calling it the DGIV 2)

Though still makes me want a Docking bat to Cargo bay conversion for the Arrow Freighter.
