Screenshots for Orbiterwiki: Any contributions welcome!

Hello folks

Im looking to put out a call for screenshots to use in the Orbiterwiki. I have noticed the terrific quality of some of the posts on the main screenshot thread, but in order to use those I would need to contact each author individually, specify the photo... etc. If you have a screenshot of any kind that you dont mind being uploaded and used, please post it here and Ill try to work it in somewhere :thumbup:.

In case you want to use my screenshots, you can do whatever you want with them. That's valid for everyone else: if anyone wants to do anything with my screenshots, however unlikely that might be, they're free to do it. No asking for permission. Just take it.

I have many hundreds of screenshots, many of which are uploaded here. You're free to use any of them for the wiki. Credit would be nice but isn't necessary if it's inconvenient.

Many of us could be more helpful if you told us what specifically you need screenshots of/for. Tutorials? Addon showcases? We have large archives, and can probably produce pictures of whatever you want, and if not, go out and take them.

Yeah, Izack is right. I have more than 700 pictures on my computer which you are free to use. What are you looking for? What do you need?

I accumulated quite some screenshots over time, a lot of them were from OMP tho, and mostly unrefined.

Here is a link to a photobucket library with about 490 pictures. With very few exceptions they are all Orbiter related. Feel free to use them for Orbiter wiki, without any further requests for permission.

Okay Ill take a look through whats posted, but heres my wish list for now:

-The OLD Wideawake International screenshots, particularily something from a descent in to landing (My first view of widewake was like that )
-Some nice shots of UMMU's, preferably from a graphics client
-DGIV screenshots, preferrably something generic

And, I was also hoping to start a small contest to design a new logo for Orbiterwiki

I like that a lot. No need to stop there though, more submissions would be good. Once we have a decent number, Ill post them on the Wiki for the selection.

There was a discussion on IRC that the Delta Glider in Loru's contest logo shouldn't be a bitmap, but vectorized Delta Glider instead.

Because Loru already submitted his entry and won't change it, I proposed Black Phoenix, who was suggesting that change, that he could make such version of the logo.

Considering the best of the Orbiter Wiki I proposed that he will post his version(s) of the earlier presented by Loru logo in this thread in the following post.

I like both, although the second one seems too bright, high contrast. Its not my decision anyways, as the submissions will be "judged' by the team on the wiki. Its not my site, so I dont have the power to change it at will . Like what Ive seen so far though :thumbup:.

On a creative thinking note, not sure why blue was chosen, but I like the idea of using multiple shades of it in the logo. Maybe the rectangular style ones could have a rounded rectangular border in a slightly darker shade of blue?

Just to let you know that I'm adding some stuff like categories to the Wiki. I'm doing this as I gather data for spaceports / surface bases, but not limited to just that.

All can help by creating simple entries and adding relevant links to technical data or research.
That can make it into an invaluable reference for add-on makers and Orbiter users in general.

Wouldn't it be nice if the could just list all the articles related to, let's say, Mars?

Related to the topic, all the Orbiter images on my blog (see signature below) can be used for the Wiki.
