    Orbiter is now open source

I know I haven't done much with Orbiter in a while but thanks for doing this and I wish you good health and all the best! Orbiter has brought me and other many hours of enjoyment as well as learning a lot about spaceflight.

New Release Project Mercury X for Orbiter 2016

I suggest downloading my older Mercury 5.0 release and grab the familiarization guide out of it as a starting point. Use that as a starting point to the original documentation. http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mscorbaddon/project_mercury_050116.zip?download The original familiarization...

    Question NASSP Forum

Waiting for their replay to the questions I have. The basic issues is that I can login on to my mscorbit account. But the handy FAQ they had for connecting to the SQL Database is gone. After an evening of fumbling around I am asking them where the FAQ is. UPDATE I think they upgraded MYSQL and...

    Question NASSP Forum

Working on the issue. Seems there was a upgrade of the SQL Server give me a few days and I will keep folks posted. ---------- Post added at 03:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:47 PM ---------- I will also ask again about getting NASSP an account on ibiblio as well. Last time my request...

License Wars MEGA THREAD (now with GPL!)

The linking exception is only for when people want to use your code in a project linked to non-free software. For example if I want to use your BaseSyncMFD math code in Project Mercury (for this discussion let's say it under the GPL) while I link to OrbiterSound then I need the exception as...

License Wars MEGA THREAD (now with GPL!)

I haven't been involved in Orbiter development for a while but I have been writing gaming products for tabletop roleplaying, think Dungeons & Dragos, that uses the Open Game License, and Creative Commons for several years now. And when I was involved in Orbiter Development I was an advocate for...

Question Agena Target Vehicle (ATV) MFD

If you look on here you will find all the documents I have on the Agena commands. http://www.ibiblio.org/mscorbit/document.php I believe what the Agena is that it has a reference platform setup that allow it to perform reference motions similar to Orbiter's ability to orient a spacecraft...

    Project Mercury X

Mmmm that does have interesting implications. ---------- Post added at 04:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:15 PM ---------- That where I got the initial idea from.

    Project Mercury X

I use OpenGL rendering to a hDC to put a 3D globe into the Earth Globe panel section. In an early version I had 2D scrolling map. The 3D version looked much better although you may have to tweak the rendering to get rid of some pixel artifacts.

    Project Mercury X

My open source feel free to take whatever or all portion you need for your project. Distinct names between different project is good. Not just for me but for the new project developers as well. My hobby time has been consumed with family and other stuff for the past couple of years but I may...

News Meadville Space Center and Sourceforge

I been made aware that Sourceforge, where many of the Meadville Space Center files are hosted, instituted a restrictive policy for non-US downloads. Fortunately they now have an option to restore non-US access which I have enabled to allow non-US users to download MSC files. Meadville Space...

Idea Mercury and Gemini add-on improvements

Somebody needs to supply the math on that. I approached Dan several times on getting access to that portion of the DG IV code but haven't had any luck. ---------- Post added at 12:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:02 AM ---------- Also I specifically placed the Mercury and Gemini code...

    Project Apollo - NASSP 2009-04-19

Project Apollo - NASSP (also known as NASSP or NCPP) is an add-on for the Orbiter space flight simulator. Project Apollo simulates the Apollo missions to Earth orbit and the Moon, and is slowly expanding to simulate planned post-Apollo missions that never flew. Project Apollo features a...

    Orbiter CD Iso

I found the package I used for 2005 and 2006 and just updated them. I figured with all the work on demo cds and conference that one of the compilier had posted the iso for a compliation CD up. I seen the various lists they are way better than what I did. As far as credit goes I point people...
