OK, I'm on board with orbiter and I love it, but I am having a hard time reading the font used on the small buttons on the panel displays. Is there a different font I can use? Are the displays mapped graphics and not fonts? I have a medium fast machine with good graphics. FSX has no problem displaying all the control labels nice and sharp.

Anyone else had this problem?

What is your screen size?

The Deltaglider and some other vessels use the new method of Orbiter 2010 to scale the panel to fit the screen. On small monitors this can lead to a readability problem, but those add-ons generally support zooming in on the panel using the mouse wheel.

Or change the FOV.

Ah. That would work in a VC, of course. Somehow I was automatically thinking 2-d panel as soon as he mentioned panel display. Probably because I'm currently coding one and getting really, really tired of it. Things sure got more complicated in Orbiter 2010. The things we do for fps...

So to clarify: is this problem with the 2d panel or 3d virtual cockpit. If it's the 3d virtual cockpit then just use the 'z' and 'x' keys to change the FOV.

I'm using a 19 inch Dell monitor set for 1024 x 768. CPU is a intel core 2 duo with 2 Gigs Ram running Windows XP and a Nvidia GeForce GT 545 with 1 Gig of ram. Like I said, the displays in Microsoft Flight Simulator X are very sharp and easy to read, not so with Orbiter.

Can you post screenshots of those displays (from Orbiter of course, and not FSX)?

Here's a pretty good example in sts-101

That is not STS-101, but seems to be an Deltaglider Mk 4.

You seem to fit the whole panel into the view, usually it scrolls to left and right, that is why your MFDs are also pretty small.

What is your setting for Panel scale in the parameter tab of the Orbiter launch pad?

Panel scale is 1.0 What should it be?
