High Velocity Inter Planetary Spacecraft?
High Velocity Interplanetary Passenger Spacecraft, actually.
High Velocity Inter Planetary Spacecraft?
Some latin name for gold
Midas or King Midas (in Greek Μίδας) is popularly remembered in Greek mythology for his ability to turn everything he touched into gold.
Смотреть-1 anyone?
I still think Страж-1 was a better idea."To look -1"?
:headbang: Well, almost.Megadeath
A bit off topic, but the USN naming scheme is as follows:
Battleships - historically states. This has been taken over by ballistic-missile submarines (boomers)
Carriers - Admirals or Presidents
Cruisers - famous battles
Destroyers and Frigates - famous naval personnel
Attack Submarines - fish
Command Ships - mountains
Amphibious Assault (LHA / LHD) - famous amphibious assaults or classic carriers
Amphibious Assault Transport (LPD / LSD) - cities
Ammo Ships - in a fit of black humor, volcanos
Supply Ships - famous explorers, though this is breaking down
Hospital Ships - for their function, eg. Comforter

I usually name my Orbiter ships with random sets of letters and numbers, i.e. ZSN2941, or not so random sets like XKCD401, which happens to be pretty funny. If I had to come up with a cool name for one, it would probably just be the Greek equivalent of the Latin name for whatever the ship was going to explore, or an interesting word in a language I only barely understand.
