I've seen a lot of errors in the log like "texture_n" not found ; it seems that the Client considers the lack of a night texture (for the surface bases buildings) as an error. And those night textures are described as not mandatory in the Orbiter doc.
The client will print a warning in the log if a texture is missing. These warnings can be ignored.

No atmospheric enchancement used. For Earth just default one.
It is still too bright and need many tweaks.

confirmed!

the HUD glass panel on the G42's pit that should be mostly transparent has become a rather inconvenient opaque green... my ship is IFR-capable, but this is a bit too much :lol:

some other materials are also acting out... not sure why...

couldn't get the ENB series mod to work... unzipped, hit shift+f12... nothing :shrug:

i had it working on FSX... go figure :uhh:

Oh, damn. What did I do this time.:facepalm: There is something wrong and it's probably better to fallback to RC19 until I figure out this one. I'll remove the RC20 build.

EDIT: Sorry about messing up like that.

There is an option in the config file to start it automatically, IIRC (at least I had it set to start automatically in Morrowind, 2 years ago).

A little question: Should i create a diffrent thread about tweaking ENB?
If it's only about tweaking parameters for ENB used with D3D9client, then yes.

I thing there might be added a support for user shaders in future versions of D3D9Client, making ENBSeries obsolete (like it's been done with Morrowind Graphics Extender, after users started to write their own post processing effects).

So, I'm waiting for Jarmonik's answer. Now I'll make a pre-release package.

NOTE: Installing ENB:
1. Copy "d3d9.dll" to Orbiter2010/Modules/Startup
2. Copy the rest of files into root dir of Orbiter

About the images posted above : those images are great, but there should be a "contrast/blinding effect" that make stars invisible (like in the Apollo Moon pictures).

Yes, but if you look at front of planet(for example earth) you will get a 10% blue and 89% white and 1% green view of it.

Maybe they look great but the rest- e.g. white sky from the surface or shining planets doesn't look good.

I got a CTD with some minor planets addons (here Quaoar). No problem with the D3D7 inline client. Also notice there is a similar error for Phobos (but for some reason, I don't experience CTD with Phobos)...

The error is : "[ERROR] Mesh group indice count is greater than 65535"

I thing there might be added a support for user shaders in future versions of D3D9Client, making ENBSeries obsolete (like it's been done with Morrowind Graphics Extender, after users started to write their own post processing effects).

That sounds like a good idea. Currently, the shaders are located in /Modules/D3D9Client/ folder. User shaders could be stored in a user specific folder and there could be a folder (shader set) selection option in a launchpad. Currently, it's possible to change the sheder sets by renaming the folder names.

I got a CTD with some minor planets addons (here Quaoar). No problem with the D3D7 inline client. Also notice there is a similar error for Phobos (but for some reason, I don't experience CTD with Phobos)...
The error is : "[ERROR] Mesh group indice count is greater than 65535"

This issue is fixed in RC21. There was an error in an error checking. The client should have checked the vertex count not the indice count. The CTD was caused by missing texture. There was a NULL texture assigned for index 1 for some reason. The "Quaoar I" doesn't have a texture but the Phobos has.

Also, the Orbital sunset/sunrise timing error is fixed.

BTW, is the issue with the Sun sprite fixed ? I haven't been able to reproduce it.

I have a question about installing the D3D9 client. I just downloaded the DirectX thing that it says to download on the first page but suddenly I have an enormous amount of zip files that I don't know what to do with. I'm assuming I only have to extract one of the them (the latest version) but where do I extract it to?

There is a DXSETUP.exe with the *.cab files that should do everything for you. No need to extract the *.cabs

Oh and if you remember, I told you I had problems when switching from VC to 2D cockpit (crash to desktop).
In fact I didn't notice I had installed the latest public beta version of Orbiter. So I switched back to the P1 standard version and everything's fine ;)

I am using the latest beta (101016) and everything is working fine. The CTD is probably some kind of installation issue caused by some addon. In a post #414 you reported that the CTD will also occur without the D3D9Client. Let's close the issue now, but let me know if the problem reappears.

I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem I'm seeing with Space Shuttle Atlantis. If I pick the Launch into Sunrise scenario, the HUD and MFD's won't display any information. (I've made sure CTRL+H is on and the MFD's are powered up.)

The odd thing is, when I choose a scenario like Atlantis docked at ISS, the HUD and MFD's are working. Also, if I run Orbiter.exe (to use the built-in graphics system), the HUD and MFD's work just fine.

Any idea why the Space Shuttle Atlantis HUD and MFD's won't work on the ground under D3D9Client?

If this is posted to the wrong thread, please move it.
