I have to try d3d9 client then. Maybe I"ll find solution for that.

Man, must have been ages since I flew to Ascension. Can't remember having problems with it. Adding UNDERSHADOWS to the launch pad object in the base file also works. But that makes the shadows look a bit strange.

But you lose the shadows, right ?

Yes, the shadows cast from the buildings are lost. Not ideal, I know, but it is a small price. With it on, it can make several add-on sceneries look terrible. The crater meshes for the moon, slats Edwards, Wideawake. It causes the tiles to cast shadows just as if it was a building, and it becomes incredibly pronounced when the edges of those tiles are raised from the ground.

Wow, amazing work, Jekka! It looks and works very nice. Now we only need a Mercury for Oribter 2010, and we can play forever:lol:.

Everything looks good, but the second stage booster is maybe a little bit owerpowered... After MECO, I seperated the booster from the capsule, and I wanted to clean up after me, so I de-orbited the booster, but after a 5 second burn, it had a perigee reading -3 000 km and it delivered it at 15 G's...:rofl:

Thanks, this was an amazing add-on, so here are two pictures.:thumbup: 5 Deltagliders from me!

And, oh before I forget it, happy 50th anniversary with manned orbital fligth for you American orbinauts tomorrow!:cheers:

Thanks a lot to all !

For the problem with shadow on the pad, it couldn't be fixed for the moment. It isn't a tile, it's a part of the mesh.

Concerning the second stage power, if you don't have any payload on it, I think it's normal to have an "overpower", especially if it is empty. Notice that it isn't a regular use for a second stage... ;) I put real values for Titan II mass and power, a bit less real for Gemini. It wouldn't be nice to pilot it with real values.

There's is a virtual cockpit if you press F8, but it doesn't work. Initialy, it would have been animated (doors, attitude, etc...) but as the guy that I was working with has stopped developping in orbiter, it hasn't been fully functionnal.

The conception of Gemini spacecraft isn't really suitable with spacecraft 3 functions, especially when there's multiple spacecraft-payload-spacecraft-payload with animation "on payloads"... :dry:

Well I go on holidays today, and I'll be far from computers for several days. Initially, I just wanted to relaese this addon to finish with it (near 4 years since the first post on french community forum). But your reactions make me ask myself if I wouldn't improve it, find solutions for technical problems and add other Gemini Missions in the future... :rolleyes:

For the moment, I go on holidays... ;)

How do you separate the Gemini spacecraft from the second stage after orbit insertion? I tried pressing " J " which would be normal for spacecraft3/multistage2, but nothing happens. I looked in the manual, but since I can't read french, that wasn't much help. :)

Try the "F"-button:)

Ahh, didn't realize there was a " fairing " to jettison first. Thanks again, and great addon Jekka!!!

you realy did a great job with the detail. You really should look at doing Gemini 9A with the ada and an MMU with the astronaunts pants silver. I found that the LOLA MFD worked ok to launch GT 6

GLV-3 Guidance

Hi Jekka, Love this add on. Your 3D modeling is beautiful, I remember this flight. I was 9. Anyway, I to was wishing for an autopilot so I could watch this beauty from outside. So using the guidance file from the ADTA that comes with LC19 V2 as a starting point, and messing with it most of the day I came up with something that will get you into an initial orbit of 181 x 211 Km @ 47.68 degree Inc. most of the time. It is far from perfect but here it is, paste the code into a Multistage2 Guidance.txt file and reference it in your scenario.

GLV-3 Guidance
Begin Code:

-10=PlaySound(Sound\Vessel\countdown1.wav)
-2=engine(0,100,2)
0=engine(100,100,0.1)
5=roll(3,90,90,88,-1)
30=pitch(88,80,30)
60=pitch(80,60,30)
90=pitch(60,40,30)
120=pitch(40,25,26)
146=pitch(25,25,5)
147=engine(100,0,1)
148=jettison()
150=fairing()
151=pitch(25,20,49)
200=pitch(20,16,15)
215=pitch(16,5,60)
275=pitch(5,-4.34,50)
325=pitch(-4.34,0,50)
375=pitch(0,0,309)
382=engine(100,0,2)
384=engine(0,0,300)
390=jettison()

End Code.

Hope it works for you. it works most of the time for me but Multistage2 can always vary from one run to another. You should always have an initial orbit that can be circurlized into a safe one on first apogee.
Cheers, alagreca.

Thank you alagreca ! I'll add this AP in the next version. But I'm not so patient, so I don't think I'll do other AP for all missions. In fact, I think it is more interesting to go in orbit manually than with an AP. It's less boring... ;)

Isn't it more realistic to have the Autopilot though.;)

I really like this version of Gemini, but could you please add a docking port?

Don't worry, Jekka, I worked out how to add the docking port myself. UAP works perfectly for an AP launch, too.

The great thing about this version is that kill rotation and attitude mfd work - the lack of this makes the other gemini add-on unflyable for me due to drift, I'm afraid. I see yours as the AMSO of Gemini...thanks again.

Sorry for necroing this thread, but I cant get this addon to work. I'm at the stage where I extract the whole file into a brand new 2010P1 version(+Orbiter Sound 4, D3D9RC44 and spacecraft and multistage patched as seen here)
All I get is a short appearence of the loading screen followed by a CTD. The LOG says Orbiter stopped after multistage2.dll(see code)

Did you make your own scenario and/or configuration for the rocket? If you did, you have configured it wrong or the scenario is wrong written. I only get this error after wrong configuration (pointing to wrong ini-file and such things).

If you used an included scenario, please re-install the Gemini-addon and try to run the scenario again. It is maybe clever to re-install multistage2.dll again too if it still doesn't work.
