Greetings to all, fellows orbinauts!
This is my first thread in this forum.
I'm Italian, so if I will do some mistakes in writing please forgive me!

Can anyone help me to attach payloads of my choice in a vessel? In particular, on the Space Shuttle of the Shuttle Fleet V4.0.1?

Thanks for all.
Good flight!!!

The Shuttle fleet shuttles only have one built in attachment. To add, say the Carina Satellite (which is in the base packege of Orbiter) as a shuttle payload see attached scenerio file.

The line (Attached 0:0,Discovery) tells Orbiter to attach that vessel to the Shuttle. Attachment point 0:0 is the zero attachment on Carina, which has two attachment points 0 and 1) connected to the zero attachment on the shuttle, the payload bay. This is the basic explanation for attachment points, VERY basic but it will get you started. Best thing to do is to look at other scenerio files to see how things are attached.

Anytime. I'm still learning this stuff too, so it helps to try and explain it to someone else.

Actually, there are several attachment points in the fleet vehicles

It's always been something of an "Easter egg", but if you look at some of the scenarios in the expansion packs you'll see that there are several attachment points defined in the shuttle orbiters in the shuttle fleet. Use the "Show grapple points" check box on the RMS control panel to see all of them. (They are the BLUE arrows) As an example, here is a portion of an STS-123 pack scenario; note that attachments 0, 2 & 3 are used:

Understood. So, I can, for example, attach the separte pieces of the Quest Joint Airlock in the cargo bay and assembly them in orbit with this method?

David143,
I don't know why I didn't think about that. Are these able to be changed? For example, change locations and number of attachment points. I have been using a dummy vessel to attach multiple payloads, which works. Attaching to the shuttle would be more straight forward if possible.

No, these aren't capable of being changed, they're hard-coded locations. But, you can create different config files for the items you are attaching and then place them accordingly.

BTW, it's "David413" if you please

I never did this. What I have to do to create these config files? And if I do this, then, the items attached with this method will work all?
