Considering it's one model, and it's going to be the only thing you see on screen most of the time, I would assume that decent hardware shouldn't have trouble with it. Might be problematic for low-end, but then again no-one ever said that every Orbiter add-on has to run on every computer that can run the base package...

It's not so heavy that it seems
mesh size is not 40 or 50 meters, for now its less than 20 MB, and the optimisation process is not over for now.

I plan to do 2 meshes one- this, and one for slow systems without detalization(more simple ferm structure, cargo module structure without small details etc.)
and 3 texture packages - hi, medium and lo(it's not difficult)

when addon will be done its need to be tested in different systems
...something like beta test before the first version release.

I can test the meshes on low perfomance computers and let you know about the framerate, if you would like.

Seems like have been more than 2 years since the developer of this Addon doesnt log in anymore. I write this with the hope of someone taking the lead of this.

So sad this addon never made it into the hangar...

Loved the movie,
Cameron tried to Invision a realistic interstellar ship it has the engines at the front because the vessel under tension would be lighter than having the engines at the back and having the frame under compression, I always thought this would make it a son of a bitch to turn under thrust. The shield was to protect the ship at high speed from impacts in intersteller space

Actually, it also protects the ship from the laser array that propels the vessel to Pandora and slow down it when arriving to the Solar System.

When the ship reaches 0,7c on the trip to Pandora it gets rid of the 3 first layers of the shield. As we see on the scene of the film, it only have one layer of shield when its on Pandora's orbit.
