galleto submitted a new addon:

LVL 10 Earth Clouds with improved coverage - Clouds upscaled from high resolution NASA 2001 "blue marble" catalog

This textures have been enlarged with upscaling AI, processed to improve detail granularity and repackaged into a .tree file for use in Orbiter 2016. I highly recommend using d3d9 client for Orbiter with the cloud normals and cloud microtectures options enabled for better details.

Instructions:
  • Extract under textures/earth/archive to replace the original Cloud.tree
  • IMPORTANT: edit the file config/earth.cfg to make sure you have...

maybe it's just me but I don't see some difference
I could post some screenshots if anyone wants
btw, just to make it clear - original Cloud.tree size is 301.349 KB
and this, modded, size is 1.421.483 KB

Clouds should cover more areas, check the poles for example where it's more noticeable. For details did you set your MaxCloudResolution = 10 ?

File size is going to get proportionally bigger the more texture levels you add, no matter what.
