Meshing Question MSH converters

thats what i thought, but when i restart it, the configuration is lost, and it reverts to its default settings (IE no directories defined at all)

That is really strange then.
 
Anim8or stores settings in registry, and if they are lost, could be it doesn't have permissions to write there. Try to run it as Administrator.

now i just need to change the material to stop the texture being shown all over the model... even on the far side of the sun... and were good!

obviously, im not using that many textures, so something's gone fishy, but what...
I suspect the problem has already occurred somewhere in the export from previous modeller->import to Wings3D process. Can you check the list of textures within Wings (I don't have it in front of me to check, but I believe you're looking for "outline view") and see if you only have the expected 3?

If so, then it's a problem with the exporter, and it'd be a great help if you'd be willing to e-mail me the .wings file so I can figure out the issue. If so, I'll PM you my e-mail address and we can go from there.

ok, in the "outliner" it has the silly issue. there are dozens of duplicate textures (and materials i guess), the texture previews all look identical between the three of them, except for the main texture (Fuse.bmp)

its not a problem though, becuase i now have Urwumpe's tool working, so i can now get the to MSH at least. im certain that it was probably my 3dsmax just being silly during the export though, or possibly the import on wings3d

All right, thanks--there's nothing I can do about this problem from the exporter. It's exporting exactly what's in Wings, and it's not my fault that your export from 3dsmax (or the import to wings) didn't work right :)
