N1 rocket

I'll have a go at making the launcher, I might even make the Soyuz capsule and lander later.

I'll keep you posted.

THANK YOU!!!! I just have noticed that there is no attention to the soviet moon shot attempts in addons and i would like to see if the n1 rocket would have lived up to its specs...

I have very nearly finished modelling the N1 and Soyuz LK, I should be able to finish the N1 today (Though probably not with textures) and the LK shouldn't take too long.

Soyuz LK:

As you can see, I still need to add details (Especially the docking system and hatch). Overall, going well so far.

I have finished the N1 except for the two upper stages and the connecting trusses etc. It should be finished within a day or two.

If anyone wants to have a go at making textures for the N1, LOK or LK please contact me, as I would be more than happy to use them (Because I know mine won't be particularly good).

Droooooooooooooollllllllllll

looks great unussapiens great design on the N1 cant wait to see the lander when its finished S@#$W Apollo to the moon we go commrades!!!

Sorry it's been so long since the last update, but I've finally got round to doing some work on the LK and N1 :P

Anyway, I have added most of the detail that will be in the final version (Theres probably a few small things which I have forgotten), so I now I just need to texture it then I can get on to the coding.

The texturing of the N1 is in very early days (Which means that if I keep going at this rate it will be middle aged tomorrow). Although, I think that I may have a break from the modelling to see if I can get my code working (If it seems too hard I will probably just use spacecraft3).

This looks excellent! I want to code the lander. I have always wanted to code a lander.

You are more than welcome to code the lander (And any other vessel). If you need anything, just PM me.

And sorry, guys, there won't be any more updates for at least the next two weeks as I am going away, and then school starts a couple of days later. Don't worry, I don't plan on making any vapourware.

I haven't had much of a chance to work on moonshot since my holiday as school has gone back and we are already getting lots of homework. But don't worry, the project hasn't been forgotten.

The N1 rocket looks beautiful, only two minor missing details:

1. The boat tail is wrong - the center engines are inside a rounded section, and there is a raised ring of umbilicals and hold down bolts between center engines and outboard engines.

2. You miss the potato smasher fins on the aft end of the rocket. They have not been removed in the final model, instead they added four gimballing vernier thrusters for roll control (If 68 kN can be called vernier).

But the most important part is the lander anyway. There is a reason why the Block D is called "lunar crasher stage". ;)

Sorry guys, I haven't had much of a chance to work on the N1 over the past couple of months, as I am entering my final years of high school and the teachers have decided to triple the amounts of homework they give us, and what time I do have has been going to another project I am working on.

But, holidays start on Friday and go for a couple of weeks, so I should have plenty of time to work on Moonshot then.

@Urwumpe:

Hehehe, the Lunar Crasher. I have a feeling an autopilot may be necessary for most people to fly this thing. From memory it has about 30 seconds from detatchment of the PDI stage until landing, and doesn't have fuel for much more flight time.

Also, I know I haven't got the potato smashers yet, and they will be on the next version. Thanks for alerting me to the mistakes with the engines, this was something I didn't manage to notice in the low-res pics I found, I'll try to make them as accurate as possible.

Well, the LK is also already pretty slow at 4 km altitude, so it should be possible to fly manually. But many people might be stupid enough to jettison the D stage before even starting the descent.

I can get you the URL of some scaled technical drawings, maybe they help you.

I am happy to see a new N1 project on its way. There was an old one, seriously outdated. It was a McDope's addon if I remember well.

So far, nice work!
:speakcool:

yeah, McDope's...it was a great add-on, very funny to fly :D
i wish you good work for the incoming one, looking forward to it ;)
Bye
