Flight Question need help with RCS thrusters

hey i am using orbiter 2010, and i cant seem to be able to reverse in any vessel using the rcs translation, i can move forward, by pressing the numpad 6 key, but i cant move backwards, i would have thought i could move backwards using the numpad 4 key. when i first got orbiter, i thought that this was normal, but i then saw people moving backwards on YouTube.... i was wondering if i was doing something wrong, please help

The Numpad 9 key is the default backwards translation key.
