sorry i missed on saturday. i JUST got my extreme 3D pro stick today so im ready for next week. just as an idea cuz i just flew the inspector to an exploding oil rig... we should do search and rescue with helicopters. put one down in the mountains or maybe (if we all have the program) spawn in a single carrier in the middle of the bearing sea and the rest of us go find it (and the pilot who spawned it). for the sake of complexity, maybe have the "crashed" pilot switch to a random frequency and throw out distress calls with his last heading. if u find the signal, u can find the guy... easier.

ok i gotta finish making my ramen, what do u guys think?

I could always make the server be the "crashed" plane, so that way no one would have to just sit there and be crashed.

People would have to turn off traffic labels, though, otherwise it would just be too easy...

on a side note. iv been downloading a lot of aircraft but when i went to look at them they have no textures. with the exeption of ukmil's chinook and seaking. all downloaded aircraft have white textures. and no its not the bluish "loading" texture. its like the textures didnt install right or something

EDIT: ok i unchecked the preview DX 10 option and all the textures sghow up fine. then i hit quality control. took everything i downloaded (about 30 aircraft) and tested what systems that it had on the ground then took it for a test flight over area 51. all in all i walked (flew?) away with about 8 or 9 quality downloads. plus a few that really stand out. the apache longbow, rockwell x-31, and the wyvern. the latter being a very nice jet but no rudder.

do you guys know of any other planes that have carrier landing hooks besides the f-18?

FA-18 is the only default aircraft with a hook. You have to get the other ones off teh inturwebz.

Someone made the F-37 from Stealth. It's pretty easy to land, even without super flaps. I can't find it anywhere though. Google should assist you here.

I've only found the F/A-37 for FS9, not FSX....

Have the spitfire and the C47 already; they're pretty good (although i haven't actually flown the c47 yet).
X31: both the VC and the 2d panel were absolute junk.
X-02: interesting exterior model, VC is junk and no 2d panel.
OV-10AX: Looks interesting; will need some more time with it.
SR-71: VC textures are pretty bad, but at least it has more than three instruments. May give a further look.

Edit: Another thing to consider with the SR-71 is the fact that most major airports won't have fuel for it...

i tested them based on functionality. everything worked and nothing essential was lacking (exept fuel gauges in some cases). the textures only show up correctly with DX10 preview turned off.

on another note, i downloaded this battlestar galactica carrier ship. you can pilot it and other peolpe can land on you (cables on the left side work). it also gets going fast enough that you can launch pretty much any aircraft without cats. the only real downside is that if you change any movement too quickly you dump everything off.

it also works with AI carriers so you can spawn it in and practice.

i also saw a "homeworld 2" hiigaran carrier that i would like to test with somebody online as someone needs to be piloting it. any takers?

I'm no expert, but I'd say there would be a fair bit of turbulence on the main vertical stabiliser when the Shuttle is on top, reducing its effectiveness.

i would think it would work fine but if we use acceleration planes you might not be able to see them. i also dont think you can land on aircraft carriers since their cables and cats wont work for you. ANYWAY, download the planes listed about 4 posts back from simviation.com

The might also be backups in case the shuttle becomes detached and rips off the main tail

The IP address and session information listed in the first post in this thread is still valid. Unfortunately we've had fairly poor turnout in the last couple weeks, and I myself haven't been able to make it a couple times recently due to real life issues. Another problem is that we have difficulty getting people to come on sometimes because of some inherent lackings of FSX multiplayer (no AI ATC or traffic and it's just a pure sandbox, no actual goals).

SP2 will be able to play on the server, but you won't be able to do carrier landings and you won't see Acceleration planes (ie, if someone's flying the F/A-18, you'll see a Learjet). I'd highly recommend picking Acceleration up, though--it's very much worth it. The F/A-18 alone is better than many payware planes which cost as much as more as the expansion does. You probably should've picked up the FSX Gold edition (which contains Deluxe and Acceleration), but it's a bit late for that now

I would, if it was available here I managed to find FSX Deluxe for 60 PLN (~$18), which is great, because some shops still sell it for more than 300 PLN. I haven't seen any shops selling Gold, and the only price for Acceleration I have found was 160 PLN (~$50), a bit too much for me. Only one shop had Acceleration for 70 PLN, but unavailable at the moment. If it becomes available, I will be likely to buy it.

Well how about an airshow? Use the Extra EA-300-S and about 4 people can get together and do stunts like the Blue Angels. The Extra stunt plane would be used because people who donot have accelleration could fly.
