You really are a HUMONGOUS ship builder :)

Does anyone want this to carry on with? Meshes and An8 and cfg files.
The lander separates from the main hull. Just used some old textures for now.

LIFTOFF! Hyperion HCLV flight VH003, the launch vehicle's third flight and the first in the sidemount configuration, lifted off at dawn (18:53 GMT, 2018-01-17) from pad 1 of the Carl Sagan Space Center, carrying the first Albatross winged tanker vehicle (OV-101) on its first operational mission - refueling tests with logistics vehicles (a Dragon, a Cygnus and a Progress), and later on with the Russian segment of the ISS. The Hyperion provides lower launch costs with respect to the Energia (used in the test flights) for almost every refueling mission in low Earth orbit with no performance loss.

Heeeeey, Hyperion/Albatros was my twelfth Hyperion mission planned on today. Have you hijacked it?

Experimental Lander IMS 1

g0l5.jpg

Flawed design with overheating problems, but tests have shown that it is able to successfully operate.
Of special interest was the success on changing the batteries during the Martian day (with some module shutdown), so that the panels and radiators could then be retracted for lift off.:)

Overheating is a problem with my IMS ships as well, although I have the surface area on mine to put radiators all over the place pointing in ever conceivable angle so that during main engine burns and docking maneuvers I can shut down all the non-essential modules and put all the essential modules on secondary radiators to keep them from overheating. My IMS ships (as opposed to my IMS space stations) all have more life support/hydroponics modules than they can have crew. This is so once they are back in cruise-mode, they can rebuild the stocks that were consumed during the main engine burns.

My SSTV when docked to the IMS has enough RCS thrust to rotate not only itself, but the ISS as well. I was able to rotate the ISS (with the SSTV docked) so that I could use the SSTV's main radiator system while docked.

There are some advantages to having the biggest moveable object in space. ;)

I'll soon begin to model the 500-series interstage & fairing. ;)

Will it have payload manager?

Don't forget, I'm not a pro coder that can make fancy GUIs and all. All I can promise is the "scenario file 9-digits long spec" basic but functionnal system that has been used in a lot of successful addons. So not a priority, definitively. Main goal is to simulate the whole Atlas V family, including the multicore heavy-lifter proposals, and also to provide a kit of adapters, satellites, and maybe other payloads to have fun with. So, right now, learning from past mistakes, I'm going to focus on that and not spread on things I don't know to do. ;) And I also have the meshes and textures to do.

No need for fancy GUI.
Just display key commands + status as colored text, straight to the screen.
Use TAB to enable / disable your GUI. That would be good enough for me.

Well, it is just including Kulchs Payload Manager SDK by the cookbook. No fancíness needed, and no pro-coder needed at all.

In one project I currently do, it is actually the only thing really working to spec.

Oh and if someones feel like to model a satellite or two, fictional or not, I'd be interested, BTW. :p

I only have an early sketch of a fictive Venus probe for the Antares launcher. :p

Polar platform for unmanned Earth observation. Loosely based on the NASA concept, here recreated using IMS (with repainted modules).

a2la.jpg

It was build docked to the ISS, then moved to polar orbit using a experimental 3 tank / 3 engine IMS Tug. That didn't go well (long story), and the Platform ended up in a very elongated orbit and quickly overheated. So expect Polar Platform B to follow soon, equipped with large radiators.
