3D modeling is not that hard, but it's time consuming. On top of that you need to get the models into Orbiter and turn them into vessels :)

I'd recommend you try to use existing models as a base for your own vessels.
That way you can change masses, engines, rcs placements, etc. to better suit your scenarios.

Hermes from The Martian

picture.php

This is an alternative concept of the Hermes from The Martian. It provides artificial gravity by spinning the whole ship head-over-heels, with the reactor as counterweight on the other end of the truss. The ion engines are located near the mass center to allow continous thrusting while the ship rotates.

More pictures are on DeviantArt.

Skylab 1 (AKA Skylab A) sitting atop its Saturn V on Pad 39A. This would be the last launch from 39A until the first launch of the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1981. After the launch of the Skylab Orbital Workshop, 39A was immediately decommissioned and work commenced to modify it for the Space Shuttle program. All the manned Skylab missions and the Apollo side of the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project launched from Pad 39B.

Is that using multistage2?

If so, the Skylab launch is a good candidate for conversion to multistage2015...:hmm:

It's from the Skylab1973 v2.1 addon by usonian and yes it's Multistage2. It works fine but the high poly count of the Saturn V causes my poor laptop to chug. I end up just flying it all inside the cockpit, with occasional glances at the external view.

To get the precise orbit of 434km circular with an inclination of 50 degrees, I take over manual control after the S-IC completes its roll and pitch program and has settled at an angle of 50 degrees above the horizon, let staging happen, and then fly the S-II into the proper orbit. I've gotten pretty good at manual orbit inserts.

Yep. Candidate for multistage2015.
Definitely! I gave it a test and works fine! good suggestion! of course a bit of tweak to the parameters is needed, but you are the expert here

Anyway I will release the release candidate of MS2015 by tomorrow, with some changes to the gravity turn and various other improvements, together with the orbiter beta version.

The Saturn V has an opportunity for a lot of the multistage 2015 goodies:
1) Venting effects
2) Mach effects
2) Engine #5 cut-out before the others
3) Ullage
4) Precise orbital injection

Fair warning about the Skylab Multistage orbital insertion. After orbital insertion, when you jettison the thermal cover from the back of the OWS, you get a 4-5km kick on one end of your orbit. I compensate for this by having the S-II shut down at an orbit of 434 by 430 km. the aerodynamic fairing was jettisoned after the OWS was separated from the S-II I believe, then comes the thermal cover.

Seems like something that could rather be fixed in the ini...

I'm not sure since jettisoning the thermal cover actually spawns the station. Of course, I'm an amateur at best when it comes to coding.

Sounds like a great opportunity to take advantage of MS2015's live payload support.

Skylab B over the British Isles on its first orbit.

I've decided to refly all my Skylab B scenarios. I originally had it in an inclination of 53.15 as opposed to a 50 degree or a 51.6 degree inclination. I've just put it in a 434.5 by 434.6 km orbit at an inclination of 51.6 degrees.

(I'm pretty sure that even the USS Gerald R. Ford flight deck won't be able to handle the DGIV )

NASSP is cool, but I prefer AMSO myself. I do look forward for NASSP 7 to be finished though.

The crippled and overheating Skylab ending its first orbit, the Great Lakes are in the background.

NASSP is better hands down, AMSO does not have a working control panel but it does have good senarios for the missions thou.

In NASSP, you can use the sextant, the AGC and all the switches seem to work (at the least they will flick).

Have a look here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kgsw3_d8fkc nothing like that can be done in ASMO.
