Few of my friends invested their efforts in the 3D reconstruction of Pripyat' town like it have been before Chernobyl accident in 1986. Their project isn't finished yet, but they've made a video presentation of the current state.

The project lead guys are former citizens of the town, which is now is in the center of Chernobyl Zone of Alienation.

Very well done, especially the night scenes.

What programs did they use? I didn't see any in the credits.

Too bad the people couldn't live there in a virtual reality, Matrix style.

Hrm... those trees would be FAR too hard to do in Sketchup... They must have done the buildings in SU, and then imported the models to something else.

I pasted the video's description on Google Translator and found that it was rendered using CryEngine 3 in realtime. But yeah, I thought it was too hard to do this 100% SketchUp.
