Happy [US] Independence Day :hotcool:

Well, I'm using version 25a1 now, so I don't think it will be soon, but Chromium (which is my substitute for Chrome) is currently at version 30.

It's a mobile OS, but you can try it on your desktop in Firefox OS Simulator add-on for Firefox browser (a 50 MB download).

Or you can also try Opera OS.

I know what it is, it's the sickeningly optimistic wording of the advertisement I was wondering about. :P

I haven't gone anywhere near mobile development yet, having never even held a smartphone...

Not 30 minutes ago I came to within half a second (or less) of getting killed, by the stupidity of a HGV driver.

So i was driving along on a duel carriageway, and start to over take a HGV as im doing 10mph faster than him. As i get to about 3 meters overlap, he starts to move in to my lane with no warning (he was attempting to over take another lorry i think).
three things to take note of :
one:- He could see me for the previous 20-30 sec.
two:- he did not indicate
three:- I was overlapped with the trailer.

If i had not Slammed my brakes on when i did, i would have been a sandwiched between the lorry and the barrier, and resulting mess. If the car behind me left any less room they would have slammed in to me as i braked (if i had needed to stop he would have gone in the back of me).

How can these people get driving licenses? Let alone be allowed to keep them.

Mandatory periodic retesting should be the norm, not voluntary.

He was most likely a European driver who is not used to driving the proper side of the road by the sounds of things.

Maybe bit too late for it, maybe a bit too earlier (we never know), but in my researches I found that.

As I'm not old enough to have seen this thing "live data", you, the "over 30 years guys" must have been very proud at the first "liftoff"...

The F-15E Strike Eagle is one of my favorite aircraft. They're developing a newer variant iirc

Speed brake dudes... speed brake. Although air brake is acceptable for layman terminology. (references: 13 years as an aircraft technician in the U.S.NAVY)

Air brakes are those hissing things on big trucks, trains, heavy equipment, etc.

Don't we call the brakes on Delta-gliders and XR2s airbrakes? (they really are called that in the manuals)

The airbrake is a MiG-29's, but it is, nevertheless, still an airbrake. :P

This picture below is a MiG-29's speed brake. Not to mention, in Pipcard's picture AIM-9 missiles are mounted on the hardpoints

I've heard former fighter pilots refer to them as air brakes.

They're pilot's not technicians (smart guys in their own way, but really, what do they know?).

PhD to design it, Master's to develop it, Bachelor's to fly it and a GED to fix it.

I used to tell my OIC (Officer In Charge) to get down off my plane before he hurt himself. He was a little short dude too, so we always offered him a boost to get up in it. He was a really good guy, exhibited really good dynamic leadership. I hope he made admiral.

Alright, though I have heard it used as a synonym in many dictionaries, encyclopedias, and articles(including Wikipedia). Wikipedia actually has two separate articles for a road air brake and an aircraft's air brake.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_brake_(aircraft)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_brake_(road_vehicle)

Seems like both are correct?

From wikipedia In aeronautics, air brakes or speedbrakes are a type of flight control surface used on an aircraft to increase drag or increase the angle of approach during landing.

The article goes on to use both synonomously. So I guess it's whichever term you heard first.

No, it is no MiG-29. It is a F-15, as you can see by the shape of the airbrake and the SIDEWINDERS under the wing. Also the boom refueling receptable on the port side might be another clue, that this is no MiG.
