Hello there, I've been using orbiter for the last year and a half, I'am barely learning TransX and I can go to the moon (never back) and sometimes to mars. My Question is, Can you use transX when you are already in orbit to plan a trip to another planet and if so how do you do this?

Sure.
A very basic function of TransX is the "Maneuver". Any time you are in motion and not being accelerated by an atmosphere ( in vacuum) you can set up a hypothetical burn that is described as a deltaV in 3 dimensions of direction and at either the current or some future and adjustable date. You can even set up a maneuver that is done in low Earth orbit and will show what this maneuver would do as far as ejecting away from Earth to go interplanetary if you like.

Or you can set up an ejection plan while in low Earth orbit for example and then drop the Pe of the plan to match your orbit height and adjust the eject orientation to try to find a value that has you the least amount out of plane with the plan. You then burn AN or DN at the nodes (as you cross the grey line) to change your plane to match the plan.

I think capt-crybaby has a tutorial at http://www.stillmixtup.com/E2M.html that does just that, except it skips trying to reduce the relative inclination using the eject orientation variable and just does it all with changing the ship orbital alignment. Either way is still inefficient. Doing plane change in low orbit is very inefficient fuel use. But if just getting an orbit to match a plan to practice repeatedly making and flying interplanetary plans then it's a good learning exercise.

After you have a working skill at making interplanetary plans, I suggest you work on getting into an orbit from the ground up to match your plan. The video tutorial at http://flytandem.com/orbiter/tutorials/video/index.htm (see TX-EarthMars ). With a bit of practice you will soon be going to Mars with very little fuel used.
