Hey everyone,

I seem to be having some sort of odd problem. I'm making some scenarios for a station I'm building, and it seems I have a problem. The XR5 in question starts in one of the large "for rent" hangars in Wideawake. When I add some thrust to taxi out of the Hangar, the XR5 hops into the air a few feet, then on contact, skips about 80 feet off of the ground, whereupon it collides with the earth and suffers gear failure.

Even using the hover engines to bring the ship back down has no effect, I am immediately bounced back into the sky upon even the tiniest throttle increase. The scenario is empty save for the XR5,and the payload bay vessel. The only modification to the scenario is a custom skin, otherwise, nothing.

Does anyone have any idea as to what's going on?

Does the same happen at Cape Canaveral or anywhere outside of WI?

Generally all vessels hop while driving on the surface, but the height of the jump is usually very low and the jump lasts a frame or two. However, if the landing gear sinks into the ground, the vessel can get shot up high. Try hovering the DG very low above ground, then deploy the gear and you'll see what I mean.

Just did a quick test, seems to only happen at Wideawake, with only my scenario.

EDIT: The hop is now immediately drastic, apex of the last hop was about 115 feet.

EDIT2: Could be its my scenario, since I just recently started fiddling with them:
Code:

Breto Aerospace Trinity Station Flight 1

1. Taxi to Loading Facility and hold for 3 hours

2. Takeoff to inclination 51.60, circular orbit at 300 KM

3. Return as instructed by Wideawake CCC, or until resources allow.

Wow, you are in year 8614! Dates close to 2000 + - a few centuries are no problem, but 7000 years in the future sometimes even caused the earth axis to be in very strange angles for me.
As far as I know it is the same limitation that makes the simulation inaccurate when the distance to the sun is very large.

I missed 2041 by a mile. That was my target MJD. Is there a reliable MJD calculator I can use for the conversion?

Ahh, you used a julian date! Changing the line "Date MJD 2467298.048611111" to "Date JD 2467298.048611111" will mean 2043. If not, you're 6573 years into the future.

Yeah, I remembered Orbiter has a date changing function, I did the calculations, plugged in 2043, and it works perfectly now, I feel like such a programming student.

Thanks for all the help anyway.
