I am starting to feel ashamed bombarding this thread with so many questions, but I have some concerning the scenario file.

I assumed that shuttlbay is essential now to the automatic launch sequence that goes with the pad animations, but I also see it is how everything seems to now fit in the payload bay. So I no longer need to mess with the Shuttle when loading payloads. I have noticed a line that says "STS-120" or something like that, what exactly does that entail? And are there any other lines that are important for scenarios?

Also, is there a way to customize the countdown sequence? Make it 2 hours long instead of just 9 minutes?

I also assume that it is the ShuttleBay vehicle that creates the automatic Payload Bay lights. The fact that they are automatic is cool, but they do not illuminate anything, aside from the one on the ODS, and they are misplaced. Since Shuttle Fleet has its own payload bay light vehicle mechanism, is there a way to kill the Shuttle Bay's version?

Diogom, that worked great thanks! At first I was having a hard time because it was telling me the docking port was not open, and I was unable to remove the thermal cover. I finally figured out that the port was disabled in the scenario file. A quick edit, and I was able to remove the thermal cover and dock the MPLM to Harmony!

I have another question, if anyone would be so kind to answer.

How exactly can I retract solar panels? The manual says "A" is supposed to do it. Works just fine for the radiators, I am able to retract those, but the big panels nothing happens. I was thinking I would try to retract the panels on the port side and try to dock a ship onto Tranquility. Would feel safer if the panels were fully retracted rather than just rotated.

I found that it is possible to retract P6 port on STS-116 mission, so I was wondering if again it is a scenario file thing where the ability is locked, much like the thermal cover on Harmony.

You don't need to edit the scn file for the thermal cover :tiphat:. Just select Harmony, and press Alt-1. That should open the Nadir thermal cover, and make way for the MPLM. For the rest of the ports, Alt-2, 3 or 4.
I'll give the solar panel thing a try.
EDIT: Ok, don't know about the solar panels.

You don't need to edit the scn file for the thermal cover :tiphat:. Just select Harmony, and press Alt-1.

When I pressed Alt-1 nothing happened. But I found it worked for Alts 3 and 4, so I knew something was fishy. I then found in the Harmony section:

TC1 0 0.0000 0
TC2 0 0.0000 0
TC3 0 0.0000 -1
TC4 0 0.0000 -1

I just switched the two zeros at the end of TC1 and TC2 so I got

TC1 0 0.0000 1
TC2 0 0.0000 1
TC3 0 0.0000 0
TC4 0 0.0000 0

and now Alt-1 opens the thermal cover as expected, and instead lock the number 3 and 4, since I have the Columbus and Kibo labs docked there. No need for those thermal covers anymore.

And I have to say I have stumped myself with the solar panels. I can edit the scenario so they start closed, but then all I can do is rotate the base, but it never actually extends the solar panel.

There has got to be a way, I will not give up!

Hi,

I'm looking for some tips on this scenario. I really like it and have found it a challenge but i'm a bit stuck on STS-100. I have attached the SPL to Destiny and trying to remove the UHF aerial from it via eva but i do not seem to be able to select it! The closest object I can get is the SPL itself.

I suspect the answer is obvious and i'm clearly missing it. So any help would be appreciated! I have tried 'Ctrl A' to activate the attachment manager from the ISS and from the SPL direct but it does not seem to do anything.

Thanks

You should grab and attach UHF to Destiny by EMU.

Thanks for the help. I finally realised i was using an MMU instead of an EMU! Worked first time. As you can see I still have a lot to learn about Orbiter. Thanks for the add on its awesome.

I've got a buisness to author. Can you in 3,5 version (if it'll be developed in future) put more modules (like JEM, Columbus, Node 3, Cupola etc) and more truss and solar panels and refresh a list of missions from Zarya launch to docking of Russian MLM (in 2012) including the last STS-135 Atlantis mission????

Hey guys, I need some help here, using 2010P1 with D3D9 client I get a crash when running any of the scenarios with any of the Russian rockets.

For example, here's orbiter.log when trying to run the Zarya launch scenario:

There appears to be a .cfg missing, and I've tried redownloading, any ideas?

Edit: Nevermind, didn't get the required add-ons. (They should really be in the OHM description and not just the manual...)

Development of a next part (missions until S6) of ISS addon has been started recently.
Regarding Nauka module, despite the fact that launch is scheduled for 2012, personally i do not believe that it happens in next 2-3 years.

I think you hasn't got a Proton Launch Vehicle on your Orbiter. Because the Zarya and Zvezda modules was launched on this rocket, that's important ever in simuation of flight. The newest version is avaliable in Orbit Hangar. Just type the "proton" word in searchbox and hit Enter.

And another info: I've got another problem. The SSRMS don't work. When I tried to move Canadarm2 installed on ISS for grappling Joint Airlock from manipulator of Space Shuttle Atlantis, it hasn't moved even a milimeter. I used keys described in manual.

1st of all, :welcome: to the Forum!

Can you post the Orbiter .log file, in Orbiter's main directory?

Wow that was quick, so first of all thanks.
Also I've noticed that it happens when the Soyuz has to open the panels

Ok, the log doesn't say much (at least to me), sorry. Try it in a clean installation, see if it still crashes. Also, in the future, put the log in

Sorry i didn't wrote it when I published text above. You could add to addon a Node 2 cfg (it's better than edit Node 1 cfg to add Node 2) and Automated Transfer Vehicle (ESA) & H-IIB Transfer Vehicle (JAXA) and add a dialog box to SSRMS?

If you look back in the thread a bit, you'll see Thorton already talked about a future update in progress.

is there any chance to dock zvezda with zarya? As i see there are no engines to make [LIN] translation that is why the docking with zarya is impossible
