Hey guys, i was looking at the Apollo 15 thing on wikipedia and it says something about ''Apollo 15 postage stamp scandal''. I dont understand it, it only seems they got in trouble for bring stamps up into space, why were they put out of the flight rotations. I'm babled about it.:huh:

Apparently this wasn't a problem until they tried to sell them.
If my memory serves me right the astronauts wanted to sell half of them to build a fund for astronauts.
Since that 'scandal' the manifests for the personel belongings of the astronauts are confideltial.

Didnt wiki say, not like you can really trust wiki, but didnt it say that the money would of gone to the wives of the astronauts who lost there lives.

Might very well be. In fact, all I remember is that it was for a good purpose and not to enrich themselves.
I got that from a wiki in fact. It was a dedicated page to the post stamp scandal. But don't ask me in what wiki it was... might not have been wikipedia.

All I recall is that there was a scandal. If the motives really were entirely noble then it seems there would have been prior publicity of this fund raiser and no scandal at all.

Evoking widows and orphans, especially after the fact, please...
