Favorite Space Movie?

Oh yes, I loved Firefly, and I've got the DVD set (of course). Adam Baldwin is great (and pretty much the same character) in "Chuck". My daughter laughed so hard she fell out of her chair during "The Train Job" when Jayne gets tranked and passes out.

Can't stop the signal!

:rofl:Hadn't "scene" that clip before.

Apollo 13
Stargate (movie and tv show)
Alien (all four)
Star Wars (old trilogy)
2001 & 2010

Could "Planet of the Apes" (anyone of them with spacecraft, especially the original) be considered space? I like it, and also Apollo 13, Space Cowboys, the Space Odyssey series, and most of all, The Dish (Australian movie with Sam Niell and Patrick Warburton).

Adam Baldwin is also the same character in Full Metal Jacket, albeit a little more profane...amazing thing is the guy hasn't aged in 20 years.

BTW, that Wrath of Khan vid is the best Rick Roll ever!

What was it that Lewis Black said? The good die young, but pricks live forever!

tough call...

Sunshine is up there
Pandorum was pretty impressive too
I liked Pitch Black & Riddick
Mission to Mars

bah, I can't choose just one. Sorry

Silent Running is on my top 5 along with 2001:tiphat:.
I guess number 3 would be Space Balls.

Apollo 13, probably. It might even be my all time favorite. It's (Mostly) realistic, also a very good story. 2001 is pretty high on my list. SpaceCamp will always have a special place in my heart, as I have been to the real Space Camp twice.

Alien 1, seriously ;)
I could not take the Stars Wars guys in their clean-white uniforms seriuosly.
But then came 'Alien', with a dirty ship, a demotivated crew and a suspense-packed atmosphere. And several film-sets (for example the brigde) were really good and well-thought.

And the monster was also pretty cool
