Is this going to be a SC3 file or have a proper DLL?
And until the Valkyrie is ready, you can use XR5s.
It's a shield to protect the structure of the ship from the laser which is used as beamed propulsion for Earth departure, and doubles as a whipple shield during the cruise phase. (I guess this won't be simulated, though. It's not possible without some coding.)That looks more like a radiator or PVA than an aerobraking shield.
The author has it right:It has only one rear shield and no shields on the grav pods.

Well those antimatter braking rockets should still have plenty of DV for getting around the solar system.
Always wondered just how they got 1.5G out of a laser beam. Solar powered by a Dyson sphere constructed from disassembled planets and moons? :rofl:Sail is 16 km in diameter deployed, made out of essentially carbon nanotubes with an ultrapure mirror coating. It has hinges built into it that allow it to fold up after the laser boost is completed, which takes 5.5 months at 1.5G. final velocity is about .7C.
