Caught these two tonight in binoculars. Wouldn't have known but our local tv weather mentioned it was happening. Good for them.

First time I've seen Mercury.

Nice image. Had a play with some astronomy software, and it looks like the moon gets in on the act later in the month.
Have to keep watching the West!.

Me too

Wow Very Cool Image..How can I tell which is which planet?
Mars is reddish and Venus is usually the very bright one near the sunset, sunrise.
Jupiter is also pretty bright, but Saturn is easy to miss, quite dim.
Usually planets don't blink, but sometimes they doo if the seeing is poor,
The best way to find planets if one is not fammiliar with the ecliptic constellations and wandering stars within them, is to check some planetarium software, a astronomy website, or this online planetaium.

You can even use Orbiter as an astronomy software : you can set a date and simulate what you will see at this moment (put a vessel where you are).

I have tried a number of times to see Venus and have failed every time :(

Is it possible to see Venus in the middle of the day?

I have a nice graphical app on itouch that tells me when the best time for planet sightings are, provided I am not obscured by clouds.
Can't find a good online program for that though.

kinda late but...

Venus, Moon, and between them you can just see Mercury.
