That's a nice composite. It describes your entire flight. :)

Happens to the best of us!:p

I was trying to change my heading too rapidly, didn't notice the negative v-speed, and by the time I heard the "1000" callout, I knew I was dead. I managed to level off and punch the throttle, but I couldn't get the hover doors open in time and couldn't get the nose up to counteract the downward trend.

Oh well!

Pictures of a ship I made up from existing addon bits. I thought I'd lost the ship & the pics when my PC crashed, but I remembered I had given a copy to a friend & got them back this week. I hope they are enjoyable.

Yep, some of these models sure would be interesting to port into IMS. If only I'd find out who made them...

This happens if you forget to check your RCS fuel before an reentry with 80° slope:
picture.php

This happened after a suborbital test flight.
The descend autopilot saved the ship, but I decided to bail out because I didn't thought that the autopilot works with no one aboard

An Ananke preview

The pilot of a DeltaGlider, awaiting take-off at Habana spaceport, spies the 120km-long Ananke tether spinning up over the south-west horizon just after sunset (recommend full size view):

Hi Jedidia

If you are referring to my pics, they're all bits available on Orbithangar Mods. Greg Burch and Salvadortega are the main culprits whose bits I used, so do a search on their names. The other models I used are called MIPTS and Orion 2100, but I can't remember the authors, apologies to them. I just remembered that I used some of the station modules that came with a ship called the Mars 2, as well. Hope that helps.

@Black Dog: Thanks, I checked out most of them, there's not really much material apart from SSBB. I still have to browse these and check if there's anything usefull for us in there, but at our current status I don't think we can use too much of it. Thanks anyways.

The incredible power of XR5. I had to use hover engines to help get off the runway with this heavy payload. But once in the air it was like it wasn't there. I siphoned off fuel from the tanks with a fuel MFD during flight for a trully long haul of a flight! A true monster of a fuel reserve!

Is that Phoenix? Nice idea to try it on moon!

Yep, the photo is token at about 110 KM, I got teary eyed when I first saw the new Alpha version of Orluex that just came out. It was astonishing.

In which file/place have you set the AltLimit higher? What value, and, what is your blendlimit?
Orulex May alpha (080527) goes with AltLimit set to 200Km on the Moon by default, with images like the one Kyle made being an official feature.

I've set it higher in orulex.cfg
AltLimit=800000
BlendLimit=800000

And here's a DG-IV observing the strange sunrise on mercury:

Perfect.

The fade between the Orulex rendering system and Orbiter rendering system starts at (AltLimit-BlendLimit) and ends at (AltLimit).

And, in your case AltLimit-BlendLimit=0, so the computer behaves exactly like the user told it to.

@ synosis - EXCELLENT recreation! Nice touch leaving the info visible so you could show that this was the actual date.

Just watched the EPOXI video yesterday. Awesome stuff! Didn't even think about trying to recreate it in Orbiter. Is this from what would be the actual relative angle where the EPOXI craft would be viewing from?

Hey, that gives me an idea - fly the Deep Impact mission then follow with EPOXI and view the Earth using Telescope MFD...

Again, great pic!
