Not sure where this best belongs, but a car bomb exploded in Nashville, TN this morning. Christmas morning in the U.S.
It was an RV which was broadcasting a loud recorded message to evacuate the area because of a bomb.
Sounds like a single targeted bombing that intended to cause chaos or structural damage without hurting anyone.
It is reported that there were 3 injuries.

Its the same in Northern Germany. Just let one snowflake fall and 50% of the drivers are suddenly absolutely unskilled and make weird maneuvers in panic.

And temperatures below zero are unexpected weather conditions for the German railway system...

And here I am, complaining that the neighboring village in plain sight is full of snow, while here, 100m below, is nothing at all.

The new year will start slightly freezing here, but FAR away from the -25°C I had in my youth....

That explains it... my coding skills dropped into the bottom, when I became almost a teetotaler.

(Being drunk maybe makes you a better coder, but a much worse human for other things)

Neither did I... though I strongly suspect that the only reason for that is that I never had windows ME...

I went from Win 95 to ME. Stayed with that until XP was released.

I did not like those few Windows ME clients I saw. All the bad things of Windows 98, and only few good things. Most of us went straight to Windows 2000, like happened on work. We essentially migrated Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 98 to Windows 2000 and also had the big joy of having only one kind of windows client for all employees, that was capable of being automatically installed, with only minimal work afterwards for installing and configuring special software.

We also never had Windows ME at home - I remember though the same transition, going from a completely legitimate copy of Windows 98 to a completely legitimate copy of 2000 Professional.
