Yesterday I took this photo of a Boeing 737 (-900) flying into Pictown-Miami International Airport. Leased by our aerospace company from Lion Airlines in Indonesia, it is currently flying our employees between various spaceports and facilities around the world. (Notice the Boeing in-house color)

Today one of their brand new 737s ditched while landing on Bali island. (no fatalities, but you know how bad air-flight safety in Indonesia is...)

And the same airline had another slip about 7 years ago in a similar situation, which is also why whenever I'm making a trip through air, I always avoid using Lion, and in fact, I mostly travel by train or chartered minibus, but then again, those aren't particularly safe either.

hell, after I bought my new camera, I'm certainly going to upload my oil painting of the Jovian system with the 4 Galilean moons, yes, it's on canvas ;) and it was made before I had orbiter though

And there she is:) With 6 hours to go, Mercury now appears the size of our Moon. The B-Crew is going to have a busy night...

...And it was, lemme tell you.

Throttles up for one of the longest burns Ive ever done, & ever hope to do; A whopping 16 kps!

Getting a close of view of the terrain

One of my favourite Orbiter screenshots of all time

The insertion was a long, drawn out affair, as Transx was giving me some odd stuff, so I ended up flying a lot of it manually with the Orbit MFD. First pass rose up to 1000 km before I semi-circularized, then completely circularized down at 60 km.

The Discovery is now in low mercury orbit. PDL will happen later this week, when we get our first view of the Iron Hill Base (BACE!!!)

About 25 minutes if I recall correctly:yes:
How much fuel do you guys have left?

Ummm, about 50 % or so? We should have lots so long as we dont do anything crazy.

Specular reflections off the fuel tanks of my IMS ship...

Heyyy...

Arent specular reflections D3D9? How are you running IMS like that?

Anyways, always wanted to post this. Its a picture from my first flight beyond Earth orbit, as described in my blog. I call it "Home"

Wow! How did you do that? Does Orbiter support environment mapping now?

Set Rendering Mode to Full Scene instead of Planet Only in D3D9 advanced setup. Start simulation and press Ctrl+F4, select D3D9 Debug Controls, click on "Pick" and then click on the surface you want to modify. In Material Property dropdown menu select reflections, click on the Link channels and move the slider to the right until you are happy with the effect :)
