At least it has a scroll wheel...

It's amazing the fact that we ask a futurist/artist/philosopher how will the world be 50 years or more from now and they show us the Back to the Future kind of exaggeration. We ask experts/scientists/engineers and they present us with Fallout 3 (without counting with the fact of the nuclear war) kind of exaggeration.

Old news for most of the people on this forum, but I think it's pretty cool.
VERY cool!!! I love how the ratio of the width of a human hair to the size of the observable universe is about the same as the ratio of the Planck length to the width of the hair. (well, actually an atom/molecule is closer to the middle than a hair is) The strings that make up the universe 'see' an atom as we see the entire observable universe. To me, the large scale of the universe seems more comprehensible than the even greater small scale of the matter and fabric that make up everything.

I just changed a setting in Windows 7, and it just said "Do you want to trust changes made by the following publisher (Microsoft)?"
They can't even trust themselves apparently.

I just finished watching the movie Moon. I have to say I'm impressed. It's a pretty dark story with a few surprises, and the special effects are all old school, no CGI garbage. Music by Clint Mansel, too, very cool.

Yeah, I agree! I saw that in the theater with some buddies and we all liked it. It wasn't what I expected. However, it did need a babe yet to make the movie complete. :p

How to say "My pants are filled with cheese." In 12 languages...

我的裤子用乳酪被填装。
Mijn broek wordt gevuld met kaas.
Mon pantalon est rempli du fromage.
Meine Hosen werden mit Käse gefüllt.
Τα εσώρουχά μου γεμίζουν με το τυρί.
I miei pantaloni sono riempiti di formaggio.
私のズボンはチーズで満ちている。
나의 바지는 치즈에 채운다.
Minhas calças são enchidas com o queijo.
Мои кальсоны заполнены с сыром.
Mis pantalones se llenan de queso.

If you use Chinese to say "My pants are filled with cheese."You should say:
我的裤子被乳酪填装。:)

Apparently, if I'm caught on a social network like Facebook or MySpace on a computer at my school, my account will be suspended for 10 days. Is O-F considered a social network? Not like it matters, considering it's a fairly obscure site and no one would know any better...

I had hoped to get a lot of homework done during my night shift at the nursing home, but every time I began to write, a call bell or bed sensor alarm went off. Come to think of it, I spent a good deal of time on my feet. My legs and my lower back are not pleased.

Well, there is a friending system here. The difference is that we are all pretty much friends with everyone else here.

Except, of course, for the Carnies. Small hands, smell like cabbage....

Well, the rule is probably in place because they don't want you tying up a computer that others could be using just for your own entertainment rather than doing actual schoolwork. So I would assume "yes".
